Wondering if anyone has renewed their memberships online for 2018. If you want to renew and change the level of membership it seems really confusing as there is no real acknowledgement of the new membership taking the place of the old membership. It seems as though you now have 2 memberships?. I still have an invoice for my old membership showing as outstanding and no recognition of the fully paid new membership. I am wondering if I am missing something here? Seems really convoluted for a pretty simple transaction. Clearly better doing this over the phone rather than online.

I got a membership form in the mail today asking if I want to renew or upgrade. Was going to do it online but maybe the form will be less stressful

I just called up and did it over the phone. So much easier. My online system has not updated either from the purchases over the phone, but, I am assured my changes are correct.

Yep, I ended up doing it online and then rang to make sure it was all ok. They did need to change something for me to get it all right, but got there in the end. Do it by phone or form if you are upgrading to a different level of membership I would say.

I am only doing the country 5 Membership this year, Its going to be so tough deciding which games i am going too...

Don't know what made me think of it and I've looked it up but we are currently in our longest Brownlow win drought.

Our longest drought beforehand was seven seasons a few times but it's been ten seasons since we've won our last one.

Just my random stat for the day.

All,

Due to a utensil-up on my part, I have a return flight to Melbourne for the round 4 game v the Dogs at Etihad which I am offering to a Sydney based member as a gift. No strings attached, but proof of membership is required.

My preference would be for this to go to someone who has been thinking about going to Melbourne to watch our beloved Swans, but for whatever reason has not had the chance to do so.

The flight departs Sydney at 7.00am on Sat Apr 14 and the return flight departs Melbourne-Avalon at 5.50pm on Sun Apr 15. You would have to make your own arrangements for transfers, match ticket and accommodation.

Anyone interested can post in this thread. A brief writeup on why they believe they should be the recipient of this gift will be given priority to those that do not. I will choose the winner by Sunday night.

So who is at kennys birthday? Just bedford?

The two of them are reminiscing about all of our past grand final losses and the umpires that cheated us ;)

What a very sweet offer. I will be setting sail for Singapore the next day so I myself am not interested, but that's a truly nice thing to do - and you don't see that much these days.

Step 1 complete.

Apologies if this is not appropriate conversation for a footy blog, but considering the way other threads veer of topic, thought I'd ask sataris (and anyone else who can help) my question and leave it to the mods to put it in its correct place.
I've only ever had stopovers there before so I've never left the airport, this time we are staying for three days before flying home, any suggestions or recommendations on best things to do? Bloody trip advisor confused the shite out of me with mixed reviews!

Depends on what you want to do..

Chijmes is a must see (imo) , It's a convent that's been turned into a restaurant/bar place (still with a working church in the middle).

Eat street food. No seriously find a hawker centre and pay $5SGD for an amazing meal.
I recommend the carrot cake, carrot is hokkien for radish btw. also known as Chai tow kway

Orchard Road, Bugis is where all the shopping happens,

Marina Bay Sands is kind of meh to me, but you may enjoy it. (Casino, luxury brands, overpriced food) if you get up early enough you may see otters frolicking near the bridge

The Gardens by the bay are a bit of greenery and quite nice and outdoors. Not a lot of light at night, except near the buildings, however.

a trip to Pulau Ubin ( a small island) accessible by boat only, would be fun if you're into national parks and escaping from the concrete jungle. Note: There's no NETS (EFTPOS to you) or CC services for anything on Pulau Ubin, Take as much cash as you think will need. You may see wild monkeys

Macritchies reservoir is also a great place to see wild monkeys

Note: Don't feed them, they can get aggressive.

Fort Canning Hotel, and Raffles hotel are beautiful places

Fort Canning is where british command surrendered to the japanese during ww2, quite a lot of history and a guided tour of the battle bunkers underneath the hotel. if you're into that kind of thing.

Sentosa is a man made island to the south ($7 entry free) , accessible by car, bus, taxi and cable car. It has a huge number of hotels, resorts and theme parks (Universal Studios, water park) THe water park is a lot of fun, There's also some ww2 historical stuff there, The guided tour I recommend, Some of the old artillery pieces are still there, and still aimed at there ww2 targets (one of which is now an apartment building)

Boat Quay is a an area of restuarants and bars right by the water, it's a little bit more 'expat' than the other quays.

Clarke Quay is built for tourists and quite shiny,

Robertson Quay is for retirees and families, quite clean but also not my scene.

The train system (MRT) is amazing and ridiculously cheap, must try it to escape from CityRail / Sydney Trains

If there's specific information as to what you want to do, then let me know.

Also Sataris's fun game.

Count the number of Rolex stores you see.

You are a doll, thanks so much for that.
There's a few organised tours and things that have caught my eye, but the reviews are so mixed its confusing, so I'll do some more research and get back to you for your opinions.

Interesting. On the way home happened to click on a facebook link to the match summary via the club page. First story title on the other news slot listed as Swans head to Henson Park. Clicked on the link and the story does not exist. Looked in other places and there is no story either. Could the move to our new 30-50 million training base be announced soon?

This appeared on the Swans website back in February before our practice game against the Giants:

AFL NSW/ACT and the Newtown Jets have approached Council regarding the potential redevelopment of the King George V Memorial Grandstand and the improvement the existing sporting facilities at the ground.

“I’m excited we are exploring the possibility of Henson Park becoming a regular AFL venue for the Sydney Swans NEAFL team, their Academy and a possible women's team in the future. This would allow us to establish world-class sporting facilities in the heart of the inner west,” said Mayor Byrne.

Could it have been an old story?
