When he’s on, he’s bloody good, but had a poor year (relative to his ability)… I reckon the leadership role may have impacted him? Get him out of the leadership group, and get Errol in I say 🤝

I’d rather just have Parker and Dane and have less captains.

Bold prediction: with Grundy we will become top 4 regulars for the next 4 years.

Not so bold, our list is in a real strong position.

Parker and Rampe are the only 2 players who you expect will drop off over the next couple years and we are in a position to replace them.

No reason we cannot be top 4 for a few years considering our core

They kept it out wide so we couldn't get it and did a lot of blocking . Anyhow have never watched a replay and never will .
They bashed Rowan and Jetta, and bodies everyone they ran past. I have never watched a replay either but will never forget having to sit in the Olympic stand with the biggest hawthorn dh behind me who nearly got a belting from my wife!! Perhaps the worst day at the footy I have had, and I was there last year as well.

Yep. Hawks supporter venom in 2014 was sickening. Nasty.
Geelong supporters were fine last year. Just cheered their team.
Missed out on tickets 2016.

Hanners was battered as well.

Agree on worst day at the footy because our expectations were high.

Last year because we have experienced the lows, I was wary about being too bullish on our chances.

Myself and Wolfgang were right next to the Scumthorn cheer squad , over 50 fat turds

And in 16 behind the bravepoodles cheer squad !
These are the s**t seats byou get when you pay extra for premiership club
My lordy you must have run over 100 black cats!

Gotta say I've had great seats since taking on premiership club in 06, shame most of the results haven't been as good 😞

They were great in 05 , 06 were ordinary .
last years were my best, right next to in our cheersquad, 16 was up in the nose bleeds like 2012 14 a bit lower down in the Olympic. 05 was in the AFL reserve...i enjoyed 12 better than 05, I think because I had my kids with me in 12.

With no Swans anymore for 2023, this weekend we focus on the local footy, and the NFNL GF, Bulls v Tigers. Will see Sam Lloyd up against Brayden Sier and should be a quality match, although Heidelberg heavy favourites my Bulls might be able to pull something out of the hat. Unlikley, but you never never know. We also have a horse relo playing in Jedd Longmire, he goes well for a young bloke.

Stats are not everything, though they win you a brownlow if you accumulate them.

But the norm smith seems odd when you view them in 2005
Sometimes I wonder what footy discourse would be like if everyone was like my granddad. He watches footy on mute so there's no commentary, he gets up to stretch his legs at every quarter break so catches none of the recaps, he's never had the AFL app on his phone, doesn't have any social media, doesn't watch any of the footy programs throughout the week.

For about sixty years he has watched footy with absolutely no idea of a single player's stats or accomplishments. When he found out Buddy was nearing the 1000th goal milestone last year, the first thing he said to me was, "That'd have him up with Roach and Hudson wouldn't it?" ("Only about 300-400 goals past them pops")

It's an incredibly uninformed way of watching footy, and yet... I kinda think it's as pure a way as you could possibly watch footy. No outside forces influencing who you think is playing well or having the biggest impact. Just going on who you like watching and think is playing best. I try to be like that myself but even I get sucked in to looking at a players numbers and thinking, oh maybe he wasn't that good after all, etc.

Draft night would be interesting if you didn't have a league of stat chasers trying to make an impression. Imagine recruiters only having their own observations and not relentless amounts of data about kids who simply try to filly their disposal counts to get ahead.
Coates league would go into meltdown.
