It is a devastating midfield group

Willie the greased up scotsman

Ian "Everyone should be able to play footy, even the very tall"

Flanders is Ripped af.

Duffman is your one-way running explosive midfielder.
Sydney, Sydney,
It's a helluva team!
The hand skills up
And the dropped balls down
No sprayed kicks go
Out of the ground!

Sydney, Sydney,
Sydney, Sydney,

Brian Taylor: Draft rort, draft rort...

Swans Mascot: Draft rort is thataway, man!
(pointing to Victoria, particularly NGA and priority pick recipients)

BT: Thanks, Cyg!

It's a helluva team!

Literally just to annoy bedford

PS: Harry Cunningham looks suspiciously like Lionel Hutz

Nelson could be in the midfield, clearance player

Duffman will be skipper

Plus Homer has Tom Landrys hat, he can coach

… and not just the other grump. The Simpersons are a blight left by Boomers to destroy following generations.

Thanks Tick for sharing (as always) - a touch disappointed he didn’t make mention of the Jamarra mega deal he is currently orchestrating.
I honestly think they'll be happy forcing the Dogs to play full price for 2 forwards in 2 years. But in truth, the whole JUH thing is being sourced off speculation from a reporter and so far has no bones as far as the Swans are concerned. Or so I've heard.

Every team in the league would be interested in Ugle-Hagan if he was available.

And if we were supposedly (i'm not convinced) offering Naughton 10million+, then it wouldn't make any sense that we weren't offering that and more to Jamarra.

That said, I think there is a 0.01% chance he leaves the Bulldogs.

No harm in asking the question IF we believe he's good enough AND we see him fitting into the team AND we think he's worth the price. If he says "no thanks" nothing is lost.

I agree, no harm is asking. Bulldogs are a weird team with a weird coach, so you never know.

And he is definitely good enough. He could be the best player in the league in a year or two.

I sort of disagree with this. We have been contending since Moses was a boy. Grand Finals in 05,06,12,14,16,22. We have been in countless final series also in the same time frame. With good management, good coaching, man management, recruitment, development we can have our cake and eat it too. We will be thereabouts this year too. Don't judge the Swans by the actions of most of the other sides in the comp. We have our own barometer.
We have an eye to the future and an eye on the present.
Always. That sets us apart from most.
If you aren't winning the Big Dance then you are a failure. To just make finals most years without taking out the big one is not only a failure it is devastating to the support base. I grew up following Glenelg. They used to say we were always the bridesmaid, never the bride. We made the finals in every year of the 1970's except 71 & 72. In the 1980's we made the finals in most years for 2 premierships. It was heartbreaking to go to 3 GF straight and lose.

My point is a coach is not graded on how many finals he makes, even though they count, but on premierships. If a coach can't get a premiership he loses his job. In Sydney two coaches stand out, Rodney Eade & Tom Hafey. Both were successful at making finals but could not go to the last dance & win. Hafey did not even make thx last dance & yet HHS dude was deemed a success for a club tcaf had little.

But eventually he had to fall in his sword too. How many coaches in the AFL last 10 years without a premiership?

I don't think the Swans are a failure. The Swans provide me with hope every year. Someone that provides me with hope every year is not a failure. They are a winner.

To just make finals most years without taking out the big one is not only a failure it is devastating to the support base.
To make finals most years fills me with hope for next year. Especially this year.

My point is a coach is not graded on how many finals he makes, even though they count, but on premierships. If a coach can't get a premiership he loses his job.
17 coaches would get sacked every year. Very dumb.

Your whole post is very dumb. It does not include drafting and trading players filling supporters with hope.
It does not include development and improvement of players. The hope that generates.
It does not include the role that a club plays in peoples lives.

You would be sacked from your job every year on your own beliefs. You would, based upon your post, be never best employee of the year.

You have your metrics of what is successful mixed up with what is sensational. In your mind.

Get a grip on reality. Learn to live and love life a little.

It is not all black and white.

I disagree with the "making finals every year but not winning the big one is failure" statement.

But I do agree that coaches are ultimately graded on flags, not finals.

Would Horse still be the senior coach if not for 2012? I doubt it.
