I think it's a good thing that it comes now. We have plenty of the season to work out other ways and learn to fight for it. God help us if we coasted through to get smashed in September when the tempo goes up. Last week and today the opposition's pressure rating was elite. Doesn't matter how good they are if they bring that it is hard to win.
Swans have built our club off that and had success..even with less talent.
For those saying some players are big heads. I personally would hate to become low risk dour team.
Players like petracca and other stars , all have had development hiccups.

Hopefully gets us back to hunting the opposition, like we have been hunted the last couple of weeks.
4 and 1 ( 5 points) . I'm keeping the faith

Sorry to say mate but this midfield will crumble the same way it did in 2022 aside from Grundy who works tirelessly its the same core with the same deficiency.

Merrett walked it out last week, Reid and Yeo did today.

Adams was part of our 2022 side?

It’s probably something to do with Isaac Heeney’s girlfriend, though I thought Fox would be the one in trouble. During BT’s segment in the rooms following the Collingwood win, BT went to Fox and asked who the blonde girl standing around was. Fox said “this is my girlfriend” and the girl visibly flinched and started loudly saying “nooo no no”. Realising he made a fool of himself, Fox then awkwardly said she’s Heeney’s girlfriend and looked seriously embarrassed. BT looked a bit confused and asked “were you seriously trying to steal Heeney’s girlfriend just then?”, to which the obviously mortified Fox replied with a deadpan “no comment”. Then he missed the next week…

It was awwwkward. Maybe that has something to do with it somehow.
That was a seriously awkward moment and I was wondering wtf was going through Fox's mind at the time.

His response to BT was just strange and I was wondering what drove him to even respond like that. And then the awkward backpedalling afterward. Total cringe and I'd imagine Heeney would have thought wtf.

I thought it was an unthinking joke. A pretty silly one that made the situation awkward but didn't read into it more than that.

It's just not a joke you make. It's your teammate's gf. How Fox could think going into that territory would be even remotely funny is way off. There was nothing funny about the gesture, it was just awkward for everyone involved.

It was just such an odd thing to say that it causes one to pause and think what was going through his mind. As in what internal dialogue was running through his mind that he thought, okay, I'll say my teammate's gf is my gf because it'll be funny.

Maybe he was just nervous being put on the spot and blurted out the first thing that came to mind and instantly regretted it. Probably didn't mean Any harm, but it was still peculiar nonetheless.

I dont know who likes roaming Brian, very cringe and he exudes a foul stench of arrogance imo. But channel 7 keep pumping up his segment as an amazing piece of television. It much rather some well thought out post game discussion than his obnoxious line of questioning.

Literally having a cameraman just walking around with a camera would add more insight after a game

Am I tripping out or was Fox's comment a completely normal joke to make?

The "yeah we're dating" gag when someone asks about you being with someone of the opposite sex is pretty commonplace.

Fox and Heeney are best mates so he probably thought it was a safe joke to make, and Heeney reposted it later on laughing about it, which suggests Fox's summation was correct.

Feel like we're looking for things that aren't there.

Even with a single girl it would be an odd joke. You're either dating someone or your not, and making a joke of dating someone when you're not just adds unecessary awkwardness that adds no value. I fail to see the humour in it.

Heeney laughed it off so that's the main thing. No malice intended obviously, just an odd comment.

Nah it's a pretty weird thing to say and puts her in an awkward position on national television.

It's hardly the crime of the century though.

This is my take. Bit of a weird joke, especially when it takes the other person by surprise on live television, but I wouldn't read anything more into it than a whiffed attempt at humour when someone puts you on the stop.

I once went with my girlfriend's best friend to a ball. We get on well so it wasn't awkward. We kept getting asked if we were together, so we jokingly decided to start playing it up. Had a good laugh tripping people out by giving each other quick kisses and calling each other cheesy names. We got Maccas on the way home and then told my girlfriend all about it and she found it hysterical. Because we're three people who know each other very well and know what we find funny and what we don't, and what we think is appropriate and what we think isn't.

So I found Fox's comment an illuminating glimpse into how close he & Heeney obviously are being able to joke around like that. And that's probably the point of Roaming Brian. Showing a more light-hearted, uncensored side to the players etc. I just think BT doesn't have the nuanced people skills to bounce off what the players are throwing out.

Fair enough, when you have a certain level of trust amongst friends and close relationship with the parties involved that sort of joke can work. But I'd say your situation would be the exception rather than the rule.

I remember when they crossed to BT in the Maccas carpark and interviewed you in the car that I was thinking things were a bit off

You were kissing your girlfriend's best friend as a "joke" and she found it hysterical? I'm sorry man, but that's just odd behaviour. Most people would not find it acceptable.

Pecks, yes. No difference to what Hayward & Papley did in that Ask a Swan clip yesterday. It's the 21st century and we weren't raised in a monastery.

I wasn’t raised in a monastery either, but none of the girlfriends I’ve ever had would consider that even remotely appropriate. Kissing their best friends and pretending I was with them in public would’ve gone down like a lead balloon in every single relationship I’ve had. None of them would have found it funny in the slightest.

But whatever, I’m not here to judge. I guess we just have a different sense of humour. The Fox thing was fundamentally odd and very cringeworthy. I certainly didn’t think it was a successful joke.

I guess that's the point though - everyone has a different sense of humour, so who are we to judge Fox's joke?
