Also, on a totally different topic, I was listening to something, it may have been the Wicks interview on the True Bloods podcast, and they were asking about player nicknames and it was said that many of them were unrepeatable publicly. I don't like the sound of that. It makes me think of how Pat Cummins nickname is "Cider". That kind of thing is one thing among your mates privately but footy clubs aren't private and aren't what they used to be - these days the players are on big money and the clubs are workplaces and have brands to maintain etc etc and having those kind of nicknames is unprofessional and inappropriate.

I think you may be on your own with that one.

The 1st Bi Male has come out i believe in the 'Daily ' Imissed the name

Brave move. Given he's retired, I wonder why he's done it.

The article provides some answer to my question:

Brown said he hopes his story helps create the "safety, comfort, and space" for others to come forward.

"The reactions that I hope for are the ones I won't hear. They're the ones of those young men around Australia going, 'I feel seen, I feel a little bit safer, and I have a role model — albeit just ordinary old Mitch — a role model I can now look to'," he said.

"I don't believe that this is about me. It's not about Mitch Brown being the first at all. For me, it's about sharing my experience so others can feel seen."

Hats off to Mitch for doing his bit (at some personal cost I daresay) to make footy a safer space for all.

It won't happen overnight but eventually the dinosaurs will die out.

I’ll message you the details so as to not bore/upset the non-racing folk here.
As a horseowner as well...

Chloe Molloy has spoken about Mitch Brown's announcement of his bisexuality:

"I commend Mitch for his courage in sharing his story," added AFLW star and AFLPA board member, Chloe Molloy.

"His decision to be open about his identity is an important moment for our game and a reminder that football is for everyone. It takes real strength to lead the way for others.

"Representation matters, and Mitch's bravery will help create a more inclusive and supportive environment, not only in AFL and AFLW, but across all levels of sport.

"We stand with him and the game is better when we celebrate authenticity."

GWS Giants have posted that they are "proud" of Mitch Brown. Will be interesting to see if our club follows suit. From my point of view, anything that can be done to make footy a safer place for all (players and fans alike) is welcome.

If our record in qualifying and preliminary finals wasn'ts so good...we wouldn't have the worst record in grand finals over the last however many decades..
Just a little fact.. would you change the former if you could

Reckon it would have been better if we lost PF to Collingwood in 2022. Also, we somehow got over the line v Giants in QF last year. If we'd lost and not got to GFs in 22 and 24, narrative would be totally different and more reflective of reality. You could argue Longmire was great at getting the team to play above itself in most finals but that proved fatal in GFs. Just a theory.

With state of origin back on the agenda, I had a think about what an Allies line-up would look like. My team off the top of my head:
B Wicks Payne Buckley
HB Blakey Andrews Zorko
C Gulden Mills Bailey
HF Mannagh Hipwood Schultz
F Cameron Walker Voss
Foll Witts Heeney Green
Int Fletcher Steele Perryman Kennedy
Sub Campbell
Emerg Himmelberg Cumming Peatling

Could play Himmelberg forward for Voss although I've been very impressed by Vossy of late.

Most probably missed some random Tasmanian or Territorian but I think the above would be pretty competitive.

Not dead just not sure how many times we can discuss getting good players by giving up our list cloggers 🤣

Maybe if we throw a seasons-worth of sage advice from your good self, as steak-knives, Florent for Kernow is a definite possibility. Add a strength and conditioning program from JHWF and we might get Silvagni as well.
