I was thinking about that, but he was already a successful sportsman when we found him, not quite the same as a kid with a bit of talent coming up through the ranks.

He couldnt play footy though, taught from the ground up. Thats greater development than a kid who grew up playing the game surely?

Me . seriously for goal Plugger and field kicking Jon Pitura and Skilts wasn't bad on either foot
Franklin would surely give them a run for their money with his field kicking. I don't even know if I've ever seen him miss one, he's absolutely elite.

Hard to imagine any other Swans' player having the distance and penetration of Franklin's left foot...he is a remarkable kick of the football.

I agree. I wouldn't sit easy with me either. But, if he did want to move back to Melbourne (which I doubt BTW) then we might as well get something out of it. Personally, I think that he will be a gun and would prefer to trade someone else, contract or no contract.

Because we needed another first round pick to bring in Barry Hall.
We thought we had his replacement in Stephen Doyle, but he struggled to get on the field and as it turned out Goodes ended up winning a Brownlow, as a mobile ruckman, two years later. Hall became a premiership captain, whereas Stafford's time at Richmond is probably best remembered for his onfield stalker.

Beautiful raking left foot kicks, both of those. Mark Browning, rebounding off the HB flank, one of my all time Swan favourites.

Dunkley was a good kick too... Well, depends on what/who he was kicking I suppose.
Any draft watchers seen any promising KPF players this year? I think it would be a good idea to draft a a key this year and groom him under tippo and buddy for a couple years before he gets a crack at seniors. Just like hewett took a few years to come in.
If we get a young talented KPF at this years draft by the time franklin winds down he will be ready to play seniors at 22-23.
