Other option could be trying to get Marchbank off GWS as they are going to need picks for a few academy kids in first round only problem is I see Marchbank as more as a third tall.

Unfortunately GWS traded in two 2016 First Round picks (Collingwood & Carlton) and one 2016 Second round pick (Adelaide) during last year's trade period. Add whatever they get for McCarthy (Freo offered Pick 22 and 2016 Pick 1 and were knocked back) and they're probably going to have enough for their entire academy!

When you look at it like that.... Jeezuz! The AFL may have gone a slight little bit too far with ensuring they were successful perhaps? They are going to dominate the footy landscape for the next decade if they can keep their side together and can get a few keepers out of all these picks... I'm assuming some players are probably looking at them almost as a destination club now given the likelihood of success in the next 10 years.

Luckily there is a salary cap.

The only thing the AFL did to ensure they were successful was introduce them to a competition that has Carlton in it.

The advantage of becoming a "destination" club is that players are willing to play for less coin than they'd get elsewhere. This is the real advantage that clubs like Hawthorn, Geelong & we have been benefited by.

There's no way you squeeze Lake, Hodge, Mitchell, Burgoyne, Frawley, Gibson, Buddy, Gunston, Cyril, Lewis, Roughy, Hill & so on into 1 team without most (if not all) getting underpaid in some way.

Geelong did it before them & we continue ro do it with all our:

Late picks (Parker, Goodes etc)
Rejects (JPK, Mummy, Laids)
Kids/rookies (Heenz, Mills, Hewy)
Project players (Pykey, Kennelly).

I'd suspect in the next 3 years GWS will become a destination club if they can keep tracking as they have been. They will then attract interest from within & external players willing to play for less than they're worth to be part of it. If I was a player I know I would love to be in a clubs first flag.

It may be the opposite and they will be a giant football TAFE for blooding and developing young footballers who return to their states of origin. If they don't develop a strong club culture they will go the way of the (dying) Suns. Mumford only has one year left physically at best, Shaw and the most over-hyped pretender in football history are towards the end of their careers. Be interesting to see what happens to them as their older imports retire.

Like a good chef, Bedford never reveals his sauces. What you make of them is up to you ;)
Did a couple of clinics at my local club, couldn't have given a F and he was with that other dud that went to Freo to be a bigger failure

i guess bedford likes me after all. Got the secret sauce ;)

Has anyone here been to Blundstone arena before? Whats the ground like and have you sat in the Hill section? Are they actually seats?

Swansrule100
Only been there for the cricket but it's not a bad ground. Planning on going to the Friday night game there next week and the Swans game.

The hill section has no seats. Also Blundstone is a bastard of a ground to get out of. Went to a Big Bash game earlier in the year and it took 45 minutes just to get out of Bellerive.

Ah damn. I just purchased tickets. It gave me a seat row and numbers so I assumed I'd be seated.

4 rows of seats in front of the hill
But not elevated

Unless your front row it sucks

No, unfortunately and she gave him the arse. Also his old man Neville Nifty Miller wore number 13 for the Bloods and he was a ripper as well
I could find myself loving a bloke named neville nifty miller. Cult hero instantly

Gaff OOC. Arguably our weakest spot on the ground (Outside midfielder). Only 23, not a whole lot in the academy this year it seems. Would give a first and change. Sinclair might need a friend

Gaff and Mcgovern for Mitchell and Sinclair. In a dream world only :(
