Funny how these rule changes always seem to come in after VIC clubs have had their share and when non vic clubs look like benefiting .

We’re coming into the era all the clubs joined / merged in the 90’s are getting f/s

isn’t Adelaide’s FS, Walsh, expected to go first round?

Was rated top 10 a while back but slowly falling back (as others push up the order? and I expect that continues.

Was a very early developer physically.

Article regarding our Father/Son's and NGA

"Gil Wakelin, Rome Burgoyne, Louie Montgomery and Ky Burgoyne have spent some time at Alberton this week."

"Tom and Charlie Wilson - the sons of another 2004 premiership player Michael Wilson – are also in their draft year and have recently joined the NGA program, though weren’t at Alberton this week."

Aaaaaand ... rule change.

Benny Barrett is a 99% certainty for us to draft. We have no Cat B's at the moment, but we're clearly keen on filling our AFL list up as much as we can through that avenue when an option arises and based on his form, in the top 2 possession winners for South U18's every week, you'd expect he is a prime candidate. Only risk would be if someone wants to take him early but we don't see him at that level. Looking forward to watching his U18 carnival though.

The article also seems to indicate Gill Wakelin is draftable this year??? This clashes with all the prior conversations around him.

Additionally interesting to hear the Wilson's are out there. Has there been any other info on them? Where do they play at the moment?

When will these possible changes be implemented or is it just a bit of spit balling at the moment?

Surely the AFL will give an understand of that in the near term.

Preferably before Port goes and trades out a future 1st that’s needed to match someone like Wakelin jnr (not sure where he sits, but reports on here are encouraging)

There's only one indigenous player rated as likely to be picked up inside 50 in this year's draft. Benny will be a free hit.

Gill is next year.

Wasn’t so long ago a couple of vfl teams only had to give up their last picks to get a father/son… Geelong and I think hawks.

And only 50 game qualification. That's how Ben Cousins was eligible for Geelong, Heath James for Sth Melb/Sydney, Jono Brown for Fitzroy/Brisbane...while SA and WA clubs needed 7463 state league games

Geebungs father son fatty porkins and Ablett jnr rort plus the hawfs plethora of free draft picks becoming generational talents and "dynasty" big vicco teams... Makes you wanna puke. Equal competition my arse

Port Adelaide father-son prospect Louie Montgomery was in great touch for North, racking up 24 disposals and two goals while Tom Tasker (23 disposals, one goal) and Charlie Dickeson also shone.

South was left to lament its inaccuracy in front of goal (4.15) as it listed Dakota Sterzl (18 disposals), Blake Florance (14 disposals, 12 marks) and Benny Barrett (17 disposals) as its best performers.
