Prahran and Caulfield Football Clubs will be entering a joint venture U19 team in 2007, likely in U19 Blue.Players will be sourced from Caulfield U17's 2006,St Michael's Toorak, some Caulfield U17's 2005 and general recruiting.
Currently advertising for coaches.

Looks like being a pretty proffessional set up in terms of administration and facilities!

that'd be St Michael's St Kilda.
there should be a few former Prahran Juniors involved too.
we've been trying to get numbers for a U19 side for a few years now and this is a great opportunity for both clubs to consolidate their futures.
I know everyone at Prahran is excited about the team and have the feeling from the Bears that they feel the same.

Princes Park Caulfield will be popular with both clubs next year.
Go the Blues.

Prahran be aware of Caulfield, not sure who you are dealing with but one of the blokes who runs the juniors is an absolute tool. Last year initial discussions were held between Caulfield and Glen Eira AFC, with both teams deciding to try and get there own teams, but if that wasn't possible to have a joint team. Two weeks before the VAFA deadline in March, Glen Eira had 20 players and spoke with caulfield again, who advised that they didn't need Glen Eira and they would have their own team in the Mornington League. Glen Eira couldn't get the players it needed and told the players they had there would not be a team and they would have to play elsewhere. About a week before the season started, the tool from Caulfield called and said they didn't have enough players and they were happy to run the joint team, it was all to late and both clubs did not field a team that year and the bloke from Caulfield blamed us.

I would be very careful with any dealings with Caulfield, and get 50% of the associated fees off them before you start as you never know what they will do.

Not sure what happened last year or care for that matter!

Clubs involved are focussing on 2007 and the here and now.Things are going along extremely well and both clubs are more than happy with the partnership arrangements.

the future is the aim.
both clubs are working hard to ensure success.
both are quite clear about how the players will be divided for senior footy.
the are possible pitfalls or hurdles but these matters will be worked out as they arrive.
it is an exciting time for both clubs and no need for concern in the near future.

Glen Eira are not the only team to be dudded by the Caulfield Bears re under 19's. Be very careful blue boys. It must be your turn

Interesting attempt at slander "Phantom" with no facts to back it up! Seems part of a smear campaign that will ultimately fail.

As posted before Prahran and Caulfield looking to the future with this venture and happy with the arrangements in place.

Remember one thing Prahran. Ask this first.

Show me the money. Cash is good. There is a huge difference between a smear campaign and telling the truth.

Ultimately the success or failure of this venture will be determined by those involved. Thanks for your concern but we are working towards success and will be taking all appropriate steps to achieve our aim.

This is about the future of our club as it is about the Bears. all the right things will be done

Yeah we've been warned. We'll worry about it from here then shall we. and you can go and worry about something else that might have some effect on what happens to you. I'm sorry to hear things didn't work out for your club, but that's the way it happens sometimes.
It may or may not be successful for us either, but we'll be doing what we can to make it a success.
how's your club going?

Much better than yours blue boy

Really?
sitting in D2 is better than D1 is it?
& if you're not with GE Saints, please enlighten me.
also who are the other clubs burnt by the Bears?
I would be interested to have the full story.

I've been asked to come down and try out for them, I used to play for the Richmond Junior Football club where I played 100 Games for them, have already been called by the club president and am now just awaiting confirmation of when to go and try out.

Anyone know if they are a good club or what???

This is a joint venture Mini Me between the Prahran and Caulfield Football Clubs to field an U19 team for 2007.Therefore it is a new team.
The players will be drawn from Caulfield U17's 2006,St Michaels school side 2006,East Malvern JFC,Prahran JFC ,some Caulfield 2005 U17 players and hopefully you and some of your mates from Richmond JFC.

We are just about to interview prospective coaches and will run an "Orientation Day" once the coach is announced.I think you and your mates will be impressed by the set up!

well if you're not going to be open about your involvement you might understand my reluctance to accept all of your posts at face value.
I won't hound you to reveal yourself, but I'd put more store in it if you did.
even a PM would be enough. I won't reveal any details given to me privately.

Coach appointed.Orientation Day set.Training Dates set.Invites to Orientation Day will be posted this week.

Is this team going to play Section 2 Red / Blue ?

Kids from St Michaels went well at school in 2006 - will go well in those leagues.

.

Like the clubs have any say about where the players play senior football. Once they have finished in the U19's they will go wherever they want.

Of course you are correct about players playing senior football wherever they want. The hope from Prahran and Caulfield is that they will provide an enjoyable football experience for their U19's who will then want to go on and play senior football at either club. What "Can't Mark,Can't Kick" was saying I believe, is because this is a joint venture, both clubs are clear on who they have brought along to the team.

Again, as you rightly said, the players themselves will ultimately decide where they play their senior football.
