The bus I am going on gets in a 5.30am in the morning, you think thats early enough?

We picked up our tickets about an hour and a half before game time last Saturday. Only took about 5 minutes to line up and get hold of them.

Someone rang 5AA this morning to say that Vlad Dimmi was on White Line Fever last night and confirmed that our Prelim would be @ 1.30pm.



I haven't had time to check the AFL site yet though.

Chris McDermott rang Patrick Keane at AFL and was told match would start somewhere between 2 and 3.30, depending on who we are playing and how they can get them home after the match

Person who rang 5AA is in my bad books.
Since I needed to take a risk while air fares are cheap I believed this and booked a flight home for 6:00. I'll be fine if the game is at 2:00, I'll sneak it in if the game is at 2:30 and I leave the ground IMMEDIATELY, but I am no chance if it is later.

I watched WLF last night too, and definitely no time for our game was mentioned.

I think the game will be at 2:30pm same as qualifying final. But I wish the AFL would hurry up and give a time. I am looking at 7pm flight back..

Just got email from the AFL about Preliminary Finals.

No decision on times will be made until after West Coast vs Western Bulldogs game.


If it is West Coast it will be played at 1pm or 1:30pm CST

If it is Western Bulldogs it will be played at 2:30pm CST

Something to do with flights. Last flight to Perth on Saturday is 6pm I believe.

I have just booked my bus ticket. Gets into Adelaide at 5.20am and leaves at 8.00pm.

Game time 3pm.

Reason for delay is that AFL had to negotiate with QANTAS to make sure which ever team we play can get home that night. Sounds like it will be an extra flight to their normal schedule.

I'm not that impressed that the winner of the Sydney PF gets almost an extra 24 hours to recover over the winner from our game. They should have played the Sydney PF on Saturday afternoon at SCG and our PF Saturday evening starting at 7pm if they were really concerned about giving both winners an equal chance of winning the GF.

Ok...I've had time to cool down. What time would the game end? Could I possibly make it to the airport for a 6:00 flight. In my experience I reckon I'd be sweet if I got there at 5:45.

In all honesty, I think you are no chance to get there by 5:45. Even if the traffic was a breeze (which it won't be) you still wouldn't be able to make it.

Any chance you can delay your flight to 8pm just to be on a safe side?

I'm already booked. I can change my flight for $30 I think. I want to get back ASAP because one of my best mates 21sts is on that night. There is a 7pm and an 8pm flight.
Bear in mind, I am a risk taker. I reckon the game will end around 5:45ish. Might sneak the first verse of the club song in (fingers crossed) and then straight to the taxi rank for a 7pm flight.
The 8pm flight isn't particularly desirable because I'd end up at the party around 10:30. That's the flight I caught last week and that's what time I arrived at the party I had on that night.

Go the 7, VC, you should be at the airport by 630 even in heavy traffic no problems. It's Adelaide, not Melbourne
