Maplebet latest odds:

Snowdogs $2.30- I don't think anyone expected the Bernie's to be in B Grade for more than a year. In the bag man!
Brighton $4.00 - surprise packets for me. Had em 4th best a month back.
Scotch $5.00 - turning it on when challenged. But some of the scores before this 'turn on' have turned me a little off. But a big chance still.
Carey $20.00 - need to start winning soon. Game against Snowdogs suggests they are ok, but unlikely to salute on the last day in September for me.
AJAX $25.00 - call it the Chocco factor, but these guys are a smoky. But a flag would surprise.
Monash Blues $35.00 - Best youngsters in the league. Ahhh no.
Fitzroy $40.00 The big preseason departures will hurt. Good start to the year, but tougher matches will follow.
Parkdale $60.00 Just no.
Mazenod $80.00 hell no.
Pirates $100.00 you kidding.
Happy to be on the Bernards bus Canada, but would think $2.30 is too short. OB and Scotch - see their ressies results - clearly solid depth. Would prefer a spread from $3.50 to $5.00 the three. You can have the rest.

Agree re the rest.
But no I'm thinking when the whips are cracking that the Snowdogs are the safe bet.
That's the life of a bookie. I'm happy to take bets on the other two.
Scotch are not fans of finals. Never have been.
Brighton, well sure they are surprising me, but I'm happy to watch them a little longer..

Your late with your round 4 tips mate

Getting in early too......
Haven't seen the past 2 games whilst travelling so hanging out for this week end and a win.

Fitzroy. At home.

Peninsula.

Brighton. Kicking big scores with big wins. 400% is huge after 3 games

Old Carey. Have to get over the line this week. No excuses. Great to see Ressies have first win in 940+ days and a second win on the weekend so depth is there to put pressure on senior players.

Ajax. At home against OS who have started games slow.

But don't take any notice of me, sitting last on the tips. Great work from Rissoles with the scoreboard.

Little Summary of the season so far (probably similar to Canada's thoughts/Maplebet):

St Bernards - Obviously a bit stiff to drop down from A grade last year. Look like to have a very solid team despite a few departures. My favourite for the flag at the moment.
Old Brighton - People say they are the surprise packet of 2017. I disagree. They were very good at the back end of 2016. Have started like a house on fire albeit against the bottom 2 sides and an unproven Fitzroy. Depth doesn't seem to be an issue. Lock top 3 for mine.
Old Scotch - Have played 5 good quarters of footy out of 12, kicking 29.21. Not sure if this is a worrying sign for them or for other teams. If they can put 4 quarters in a row together, they could kick a monster total. For now, I'm worried for them as you can only get away with playing poor footy for so long. Top 4 lock but will have to reasess them after Round 9.
Monash - I honestly thought Monash were a chance to make the 4 but you just can't lose games that you should be winning. They should have beaten Scotch last week as Scotch were off for a half. Then follow that up with a loss to Mazenod. I think they have talent but will finish mid table.
Mazenod - So far they look like the better of the newbies. I don't know much about them but I'm thinking 4-6 wins, maybe 9th, maybe 8th.
Peninsula - To be honest, they must have played some good footy to be up by 3 goals at 3qtr time against Scotch. Still think they'll finish last though.
Fitzroy - Have beaten Parkdale and Peninsula, then pumped by Old Brighton. Overrated early on and I think they will finish about 7th. They lost some very solid players in the off season and I think that will hurt across the season.
AJAX - Probably the dark horse for mine. I can't make any promises as they have been the 4th to 6th team in Prem B for a while now. I think this year will be the same but they have the talent to be more competitive for longer this year.
Old Carey - Don't write them off. They always start slow as they let their recruits gel. They are more competitive in the magoos which is a great sign. I think they will be pushing the 4 come season end.
Parkdale - It's either them or Mazenod joining Peninsula in Prem C next year. I'm not saying they are bad, but they will need 5 wins or more to stay up and they still haven't played Scotch, Brighton or Carey.

Just my 2 cents.

Tipped 4 again. 13 from 15 is solid. So maintaining approach. Rd 4 tips for you Rissoles.

Bernards were just OK today and prevailed. Will be too good for Fitzroy.
Old Brighton - form side. Lock them in. Too strong for Monash.
Carey to win their 1st at Parkdale.
Scotch to win at AJAX.
Mazenod to beat Peninsula.

Snowdogs in a canter. Whilst Fitzroy have the bigger bodies to match STB in strength that others dont, i dont think they have the onball division to match the Doggies run
OB just. Monash to fire up after an unexpected loss, and have run, and more run, which matches up pretty well on OB potentially
Parkdale to create some stormclouds for Old Carey in a 1pt 'upset' Plenty of talent at Bulleen but not gelling, and though early days suggest they have fixed their depth in the twos, not sure it has fixed their bottom 5-8 in the ones. Parkdale also have a good mix of big bodies and young run, even if it is not yet showing on the scoreboard.
AJAX in a minor upset. Play their paddock very well and know the vageries of the Albert park wind.
Mazenod after a fantastic effort last week

Winter, well done. Can you do similiar for A Grade?

St Bernard's - Fitzroy will come good, but not this week.
Mazenod - toss of the coin, but back them on the basis they had a good win last week and are now up and running.
Old Brighton - back the form team with 400%.
Old Scotch - close game, but Old Scotch run a bit too deep talent wise. OMG can nos. 9 and 16 play.
Old Carey - no idea on this one, but will back OC to just get over the line.

Tips:
Fitzroy v St Bernards - Fitzroy got found out last week. They hadn't played anyone decent until OB and I can't see them getting within 8 goals of the snowdogs.
Peninsula v Mazenod - The Grand final rematch is always a great spectacle, especially this early on in the season. I'll have to side with the team that has a win under the belt.
Monash v Old Brighton - I think this will be Brighton's toughest test to date. Monash have the talent and fitness to stay with OB for the whole game. OB may squeeze a victory but by no more than 3 goals.
Ajax v Old Scotch - Despite Scotch having consistent quarters of bad footy, you can't tip against a win streak. Scotch by 4 goals.
Parkdale v Carey - Finally Carey have a chance for their first win. They should win this. If they don't, I'd be very very worried.
