Sand dune runs are crazy. Can't think of a worse activity for pre-season.

Great start by Teddy to the new season.
 
Watch Jackson Potter become a star. I grew up with him at Pennant Hills Footy Club and he dominated junior footy. Plays off half back and has very, very good foot skills.

“Nick Malceski was probably the best overall, he’s come back in great shape. He ran a personal best for his three-kilometre time trial on Monday and he’s absolutely flying. Dan Currie impressed me, he seemed to dominate his group for most of the session. Byron Sumner did well. He was sort of bringing up the back of his group early on, but really soldiered on and got through the session and will no doubt feel rewarded for his effort,” Spurrs said.

Good to read that Lewis Johnston was one of the stand outs in the sand dune torture sessions, I was under the impression he was a bit of a slacker...:thumbsu:

Potter was on show as a top-up in many of the reserves games this year. I didn't think his foot skills seemed exceptional at that level (though they look better than big brother's) but the thing that stood out about Potter was that he played with the conviction he belonged, unlike many of the other scholarship kids who looked timid at times. Of the crop who become eligible to be drafted at the end of next season (including May, Lynch and maybe Guthrie), he certainly looks the most likely at this stage to win a rookie list spot (at worst). That said, Guthrie has been doing well in the endurance events early in this pre-season, and both May and Lynch have the advantage of height that might see them win a spot on potential, even if there are question marks over intensity or footy smarts.
 
Thanks for posting Grim very happy to hear that report on Sumner. Sounds like he stuck at his task and kept going through to the end. After the question marks raised about his effort in 2010 it's good to hear he may have returned with a new focus.

Big seasons ahead for Guthrie, Potter, Lynch, May & Kenny - all eligible for the 2011 draft. Swans have shown past 2 seasons that they are not offering any "charity" listings to their scholarship players (see Bottin-Noonan & Lewis), however, if these boys produce the goods in the u/18's carnivals, with the severely compromised draft, who knows? It would be nice to be able to recruit from our own back yard. They have all obviously exhibited the desired credentials as youngsters, so work hard, and good luck boys! :thumbsu:

Haha, he couldn't have picked a worse spot to stand than next to Jesse, Seabs and Pykey.
