Trelol is a quality player but I wouldn’t swap them, Prestia does a hell of a lot of heavy lifting in our midfield that largely goes unnoticed. One of the smartest players going around, every player is better when he’s in the side- you can’t quantify that

As a player Treloar is better but Prestia for pick 6 was far better value than Treloar for, in the end, 2 pick 7s

His value worked out to be pick 12 as the second round pick we swapped with Gold Coast was 14 places lower.

Gold Coast Prestia + pick 24
Richmond pick 7 (Jack Scrimshaw) + 2017 pick 38 (on traded to West Coast for Jack Petruccelle)

Way I see it. Collingwood gave up two first round picks and one later pick for Treloar if we had done that it most likely means we don't get Rioli(pick 15) Nathan Broad(pick 67). That is assuming our trades that we did in 2015 still went ahead and we got Treloar. we may not have then got Prestia the next year because we wouldn't have had that first round pick to trade for him although we got a first rounder from GWS for Deledio which we gave to Geelong for Caddy so we possibly only get one of those.

Treloar is a bloody good footballer(poor judge of where a list is though ) but I don't see us winning the flag last year if we had got him and as a result missed out on those others. If we had got him who knows where we would be or who we would have drafted and traded for would have changed the whole thought process.

I will say that in hindsight I wouldn't change a bloody thing and take it the way it worked out with us winning a flag without Treloar.

It’s effectively Prestia + Rioli that would have been the opportunity cost of securing Treloar . Plain and simple what the preference is , not sure our premiership campaign would have tracked the way it did without these two
