Not sure about you but my calendar says 2013. ;)
Agree, as much as I like that image of Grave Danger trying to knock some sense into Wrinkles it has no part in the modern game. Tackle them hard and hit them hard within the rules.

Trengove to take Jenkins, Jonas on Porplyzia & trust Bobby to do the job on Walker.

i wouldnt want carlile to try to follow walker as he bursts up the field. my recollection tells me walker doesnt take pack marks or even many deep marks near goal unless on quick turnarounds. he bursts away and leads up onto the wing creating separation and hurts with his long kicking. can trengove keep up with him? its a match up problem, thats why walker is effective. sticky hands, hard bursts , good below his knees and long kicking. almost think jonas would be the best match up for walker. he will inevitably give a goal or two away to walker but wont let him get a bag.

It's pretty much a dual job, bobby to take him when close to goal, but do a switch & Jonas to take him when he wanders.

From watching them they do a switch between Walker & Porplyzia. When Walker goes on his runs Porplyzia cuts back in closer to goal, & then they swap. Sometimes they also use henderson for that role.

Tex, meet The Glove.

butch is quite quick and very good at ground level. no problems there. of course im happy for port to take the view based on their knowledge of how his body is going.
Yeah, I agree with your assessment on Butcher's attributes and if he's ready, I'd be happy for him to be in. My theory was based more around the absence of a like for like swap.

I expect to see Schulz and Butcher as our key forwards when they're both fit and in form. As mentioned by Phhht , two genuine key forwards allows Westhoff to be a very awkward match up for the opposition.

I'm going to reach through my computer screen and slap the next person who suggests dropping or subbing Heath or Stevenson.
i agree he has been awsome i have let every eagles supporter know about it too

and heath i just hope his knees hold out so solid down back

Kornes or Mitchell can run with Danger all day. Kornes is one of the best defensive mids in the game. Is there a reason people are suggesting Mitchell does the job? Is it a pace thing and is Mitchell really that much quicker than Kornes as I haven't noticed it. Mitchell has played his role as the sub and I don't see why he can't or shouldn't do it again.
yep, kornes has been solid would love to see him go head to head with paddy...i wouldn't want mitchell in a tagger role either he is natural ball magnet its his greatest strength

I agree with that, the Gradanger thing was more tongue in cheek ..... one difference though - I want us to SMASH them within the rules.

Renouf in for Redden. Maybe.
Mitchell as sub.

Kornes to Danger
Jonas to Walker
O'Shea to "Skivvy" Henderson

Schulz to kick 10 on Truck
Hinkley to send Sando a horse head at half time.

O'Shea is much maligned. I thought he did well yesterday.
Moore played well in the magoos but not adequate enough for a recall unless Hamish is injured.
O'Shea was very good and is getting better each week and he kicked our first goal. He doesn't deserve being dropped in my opinion.

Compared to the overall standard of the team, Id say he was acceptable, but not "very good".

Worth bringing Butcher in as the sub?

Worth consideration in case he's not ready for a full game. I'm just worried with our structures regarding tall forwards if Shultz is well held and Westhoff is roaming around the ground. Having Butcher as an option would allow us to change if something isn't working.
Had similar thoughts myself however didn't see magies game to determine if Butch played well or just easy goals. Well worth considering for exactly the reasons you have mentioned....good thinking 99

What???
Why?

Btw which one is big red?

I've heard both redden and lobbe called that

True, Redden. Just think he has been a bit down. Got killed in the centre ckearences by a young team, no real taps to advantage etc.
Renouf had nearly 40 hit outs in the SANFL, time to give him a shot.
Thought Lobbe has been moving well to

Unless of course they are actually hitting Wrinkles, then play on :)

We can't drop people because of one game, especially when we are winning. People questioned Broady's output last week and this week he stepped up. Giles and Brogan are no mugs, Redden may have had an off week, I see nothing in Renouf to drop Redden yet, make Reneouf stack up a few good games in the SANFL first, same for Dom, same for Gray etc etc

We are undefeated with two large winning margins, unless injured i can't think of anyone deserving of being dropped, even Moore was unlucky last week.

i actually thought that redden had some absolutely gorgeous clear hitouts. just gave up some as well and didnt do enough around the ground. i would be keeping redden in but would have no problem with dropping him for renouf as well, especially if renouf has torn up training during the week.

I wouldn't mind Renouf coming in this week. I think at this stage he's the only ruck we have that can match Jacobs in ruck contests. I also wouldn't mind Butch or Stewart coming in to stretch their defence. The big truck is slowing down and I think we should exploit it.

I would also keep Mitchell as sub for another week, bring him on in the 3rd and use his pace.

no changes unless forced.

mitchell should probably not be the sub for the 3rd time in a row although he seems great at the role. im not sure who in the team currently should become the sub as not alot of them would be good impact players like mitchell. maybe neade is the best option just to give him an easier week?

if shultz isnt good then butch or d.stew must come in. 5 and 4 goals respectively. i would go with butch as d.stew is prone to popping up on rare occasions. would not have a tall forward as sub.

if hartlett isnt any good i think moore was probably the best performed looking at sanfl stats. or could go for young and make him the sub? dont think i would go with thomas as his disposal would not help the way we have been playing.

im keen on taking it slow with gray. we are not desperate at the moment to bring players into the 22 which is a lovely position to be in
Would not even consider Neade as sub as he is gaining in confidence each game and his skills/vision are excellent. His pace and clean skills will concern and he reads the game very well and also applies fwd pressure. He has been a find and was thrown in as 'steak knives' with Homsch...hmmmm. Just look at his goal assists

I think we'd get a please explain from the AFL if we dropped Neade. The commentators sure did love him. Pointed out that his score assists were crucial. I hope that the people who were against Lobbe and thought that Redden was our number one ruck this year give every player a chance. I don't think any of the Ruckmen have cemented their spot but Lobbe has been good around the ground and more than competitive in the Ruck so far. I think we'll all find Jacobs being exposed because of his input around the ground being zilch and not dominating the rucks like last year.

Then the Showdown is the perfect game/experience for him. Don't drop him. Let him square up against a tougher opponent, in a higher intensity game, so he knows how tough it can get.
Wines is NOT the type to a) get a big head 2) get ahead of himself. His family wouldn't allow that, he wouldn't allow that and KH wouldn't allow that. He still got 19 possessions played team footy etc. Chill out

Does Kane Cornes even tag other players anymore? I understand that he might line up on them at stoppages or something, but tagging is something completely different.

I actually don't think it happens much at all nowadays, but I don't really look out for it. :S

Anyway, I doubt there will be any changes this week. I'd like to see Matty Thomas come in as much as I would every week, but he isn't really kicking down the door so its not going to happen. I feel bad for Kane Mitchell though as I suspect he will be the sub yet again, unless Cobra or Wines replace him.

EDIT: Actually, bringing Renouf in would be a pretty good idea TBH. I'd guess Lobbe would be dropped, as Redden is more effective with his hitouts.
Boys we need hard inside midfielders...why oh why even think of Wines as sub. He plays from the very start
