Preview Preview and Changes Vs Adelaide

The Crows biggest weakness is the speed of their backs. Especially Rutten and Talia. Westhoff should drag Otten or whoever picks him up in the forward line on a merry dance and run him into the ground, leaving space for guys like Monfries, Wingard and Neade to expose the lack of pace.

Can't see any changes except maybe Renouf for Redden.

Heath and Stevenson are just set and forget players we can maybe revise their positions in a couple of years time.......for Danger I would like to see a player run with him who can really hurt on the turnover ....is Pittard worth considering? I think matches him for athletic ability maybe not as physical but does he need to be?

gray. But this would be assuming someone misses through injury this week. That said, I don't think there will be any changes to the starting line up. If anything, Mitchell could be dropped to play a full game. Its a tough call. Another point is that Ken made a point about our clearances being awful, he could re jig the midfield a tad. Mitch could get a full game because of it. The selection problems are glorious. Mitch will either start or be playing sanfl. He won't be sub 3 weeks in a row despite his effectiveness as a sub.
Gray isn't at his best, and others are playing better than him in the sanfl. Doesn't deserve a spot

While there were some reasonable SANFL performances I didn't see anyone demanding a spot. I'd go in with no unforced changes. Redden is probably the most in danger but I'd give him the confidence to have a crack at Jacobs. Mitchell will need a full run sometime, whether that is afl or sanfl.

The coaches have already said Thomas is there for back up. Would be really disappointed if he was brought in this week ahead of Moore, Young or Colquhoun. Personally I would go in unchanged.

Kornes or Mitchell can run with Danger all day. Kornes is one of the best defensive mids in the game. Is there a reason people are suggesting Mitchell does the job? Is it a pace thing and is Mitchell really that much quicker than Kornes as I haven't noticed it. Mitchell has played his role as the sub and I don't see why he can't or shouldn't do it again.

Given that Carhoon didn't play in the sanfl this week, I wonder who was under a big enough injury cloud for that to happen. I think Schulz was struggling during the week.

The game his team played was also scheduled very awkwardly with the match I guess.

Mitchell did one hell of a tagging job on Hurn vs West Coast.

The love for Mitchell's easy to understand, he's a great lad who works his backside off .....would be good to find a niche for him....will be alot easier next year when the rotations are capped at 80 and the tagging role is more relevant again with luck he picks up where Kane drops off...

Just going back to the OP, no way does O'Shea get dropped.

If everyone is fit, we stick with the same team.

You don't make changes just for the hell of it.

Agree we have to hard tag the guy with the cat, I'd like us to go head to head against Sloane & try to hurt him with our guy attacking, make Sloane worry about what our guy is doing, Ebert would be best. Boak to go head to head with Thompson, Hartlett & Wines to try & stretch their midfield.

Trengove to take Jenkins, Jonas on Porplyzia & trust Bobby to do the job on Walker.

Our forwards to take advantage of the lack of speed in the crowbots defence, plus also their inability to go hard & high for marks. The Lions played into Rutten's hands with Brown who can neither run fast or get off the ground theses days, we have to do both.

I'd like to see Mitchell start on the ground and tell him to run his arse off, taking his opponent to mars if necessary, & our rucks must be accountable when Jacobs goes forward.

Whoever goes to the sub is really unfortunate.

I'm guessing both Schulz & Hartlett will be fit to play.

Which is why, if Schulz misses, I don't see that Stewart or Butcher have to be brought in. I think the Crows back line lends itself to being exposed by a forward line of Westhoff and the resting ruckman surrounded by our quick HFF/Mids. This goes completely against my preference for 3 talls, but I could see it working.

With that set up, it doesn't require your two talls to take copious hangers. What they must do, though, is make a contest and keep the ball in the area- hence my reluctance to go with Stewart or an underdone Butcher.

Its a fair point SPG but it robs us of Humphrey's strengths, being able to play all over the ground and therefore creating mismatches. Having said that, dont think either Stewart (d) or Butch are ready for a showdown. Please Schulzy, stay fit.
