lol.

Why are people dropping people just because?

Also lol @ thinking salter will ever make it into this squad.

because we have 40 players on our list with a lot of them (who werent playing in rounds 1 and 2) performing in the sanfl. So if players have average games (Eg redden) we can bring up another player to replace them. Also we have Mitchell who has got 3 weeks at the most until salter is off the injury list and has to be on the rookie list again and wont be able to play until another LTI.

simple enough?

You lost me at suggesting dropping Stevenson.

Playing him as the sub is as good as dropping him.
Its a tough situation we are in i woudnt play him as sub...he has been good this year...
But we need to give mitchell a rün...

You Could go through our list of 22 right now and there is no one there i would want as sub any name you pop out you Could carry on like you have i am 12 etc... Or you Could ignore it or heaven forbid jõin a proper discussion

Who would you put as sub then, other then Mitchell?
gray. But this would be assuming someone misses through injury this week. That said, I don't think there will be any changes to the starting line up. If anything, Mitchell could be dropped to play a full game. Its a tough call. Another point is that Ken made a point about our clearances being awful, he could re jig the midfield a tad. Mitch could get a full game because of it. The selection problems are glorious. Mitch will either start or be playing sanfl. He won't be sub 3 weeks in a row despite his effectiveness as a sub.

Not interested in seeing mitchell at afl level?

If Mitchell needs a full game....and I'm not thinking that he does yet, it's not like he's some fat slob who's not training his guts out during the week....it would be in the SANFL for mine and I'm thinking they would bring Colquhoun in which would be like for like and maybe the best type to fill the sub role ...Neade stays right where he is ...
My concern is always the number of rotations you need to do to to keep the midfield on top of the ground and how long we can get away with playing two Ruckmen but Lobbe has managed look ok staying on the ground and does give us a point of difference if he keeps it up and I'm not dropping Redden, who is our best ruck for mine...
We could maybe be a better side with Butch Gray and Dom back in the side but I'm happy to wait until a spot opens though a poor team performance or injury opens the door for them.

Mentioned this in the other thread, but I think Kane Mitchell could do a tagging job on Dangerfield.

- Gets KM a full game, with plenty of run/coverage.
- They tried KM as a tagger in the Sydney game? or was it the WC game (I think it was the WC game now).
- KM has the endurance to run all game and can punish Dangerfield the other way.
- KM doesn't have the burst speed to match Dangerfield, but then again not many AFL players do.

Leaves Cornes for someone like Thompson or Sloane.

EDIT: left out an important n't there.

I wouldn't worry too much about the Salter/Mitchell situation.

And I wouldn't mind swapping Redden for Renouf. Redden was great in the middle (along with Boak) against Melbourne, but didn't do much around the ground - he wasn't particularly great at anything on Saturday night and I think Renouf would match up better with Jacobs. Renouf also earnt a spot with 38 hitouts in the SANFL.

Lobbe should definitely not be dropped. He's almost an extra midfielder, the way he is able to run his opponent ragged and find space as a link-up guy in the middle of the ground.

Only other changes should be due to injury... Schulz/Butcher, Hartlett/Moore.

This is the one game I would look at bringing in Matt "Crow Killer" Thomas. Even just for the first half to do some "jobs". The sub him off and back to SANFL.

Stevenson ended up with efficiency upward of 80% - one of the higher numbers of the night.

Anyone suggesting we bring in D Stew, please show yourself out.

I can understand the idea of bringing back Dom for an experienced head but I also follow the 'if it aint broke, don't fix it' idea. Our main group are growing as a young team - 6 new players to the club added from rnd 1 - I suggest unchanged given Hinkley is confident both Schulz and Hammer will play.

I like the idea of Mitchell tagging Danger, certainly has some merit to try it out for a quarter.
However, I think it could be a good idea having Mitchell and Neade both starting in the forward line. Between those two and Wingard, we could really expose the Crows in defence for a lack of leg speed and agility. They have some nicely skilled defenders, but think if we can run them around in the first half, our speed and fitness of those guys could give us the edge in the second half.

Apart from one tackle on Henschel Matt Thomas has never given the crows any headaches.

Ken Hinkley is all about developing this young group of players as quickly as he possibly can. He's about setting them challenges and seeing them respond to the challenges. He's not about the post-'04 Choco quick fix.

Get used to seeing guys like Matt Thomas in the SANFL.

Depends how we play the sub. If it's the initial 'sub on, impact!' then Mitchell has done exactly that. If Kane does get a full game, whoever puts the vest on, would they have as much 'impact' as what Kane as done thus far? If he got a full run, there is no doubt he could keep up with Dangerfield. To take out their most damaging player with a 3rd gamer, you'd take it.
I'd like to see unchanged side unless forced.

I'm going to reach through my computer screen and slap the next person who suggests dropping or subbing Heath or Stevenson.

I have and I love how we are going about it. I would just prefer if Dangerfield and Sloane were driven head first into the ground in the first quarter and took no further part in the game

Let's just tag Slone, but if anyone see's FIG JAM jay walking take one for the team.

I'd be extremely surprised and even more disappointed if we took this sort of attitude into this or any other game.
