Why is it that the Crows seem to be having trouble winning day games this year?

9 day games with a 2-7 win loss record

9 night games with a 7 - 2 win loss record.

Is it because the big men have less impact at night due to slippery conditions?

I've had this theory for a while about intensity levels being different at day and at night.

At night there seems to be more of an atmosphere and the players seem to get themselves up for the game easily. While during day games there is almost that lazy sunday afternoon feeling, and the intensity seems to be lacking.

I know just as a supporter attending day games and night games I always feel more nervous just before a night game. During day games sometimes I feel just like having a nap.

Yeah, night games do have a better atmosphere IMO. I liked the old twighlight games too, where the 2nd half was played at night.

I had a theory that it was windy conditions we struggled with most as our skills go to shit. Was the roof open or closed at the Dome when we played the Bombers? Is it just me or are the afternoons the windiest part of the day when the 'sea breeze' kicks in? And is it usually 'stiller' at night? Am I imaging things? Xavier? Keith?

We need a roof over AAMI.

You've done well. :thumbsu:

Channel 9 News did a direct lift off from your post in its sports section tonight. :)

Bit harder for the umpires to see what's not there? :D

Roof was definitely open when we played the Bombers. I remember watching Bock shading his eyes with his hands repeatedly, as he tried to make out what was happening further downfield (ie who he was going to kick the ball to).

Now:

10 day games with a 2-8 win loss record

9 night games with a 7 - 2 win loss record.

-------------------------

We have 3 night games to go!

Don't let the AFL know or we will end up with 22 day games next year...

both night games too :thumbsu:

To add further credence to this argument I can remember two twilight games off the top of my head this season (both vs. Bulldogs) and in both games it was tough work in the first half before we ran away when it got dark. ;)

Have we had any other twilights?
