How is this bloke going? Haven't seen much of him. and was just wondering if he would be one of those players who plays a few games a year over a couple of years and gets delisted or does he have the ability to become a good solid player in the pies midfield ..eg- licca???

i saw a few of his games down at willi and it seems as tho the kid can play! he has good vision a descent kick but lacks pace! i also believe he is injury prone. which isnt a good sign and woudl be the reason why no1 else wanted to pick him up! he is much better then pick 55 and if he can stay fit he will be a very good on baller!
mick has already hinted thathe is not ready for the rigours of AFL and will be probbaly spend the majority of time in the 2's this year

He was injury prone in his two years at TAC Cup level but he was injury free as far as I know last year with us.

That is correct but he hasnt really exerted himself yet ie. he hasnt played any AFL footy! Dont forget that alot of the time injured players are sent down to willi to regain sum fitness!

I've seen him play some good games for Willi and am not particularly concerned with his inability to adjust to the pace of AFL just yet.

He kinda remids me of Tony Francis, only with less burst. That said, I don't think he's as slow as people suggest he is. I think he's got handy pace. He's no Brayden!

He has a nice flat direct kick, can mark and has a knack of floating forward and gathering a mark and / or goal.

His injury prone status wasn't evident last year, although he started of with a niggle, but was introduced slowly.

He won't die wondering. I saw him risk life and limb in a tight one against the filth from Port Melbourne. Goes in as hard as anyone on our list.

He is a ball magnet, but the games I saw, it was in bursts. I hope he can get fit enough to be that magnet all game, then we might start seeing 35+ possie games from him!

Didn't he play a couple of games in the seniors earlier in the year?

I have been advised that if I post anything negative about Collingwood I will be banned. So being very positive;

Collingwood have the best list in the AFL by far
The drafting of young players to Collingwood in recent years has been nothing short of amazing
Pies can certainly finish high on the ladder in 2006 by staying with the same list and current players
They are no chance for the 2006 wooden spoon, despite Sportbet's current framed market
Ryan Lonie and Aaron Hamill would be a ripping boxing match - maybe Lonie on points
Brodie Holland would not be better to stay 'dancing' rather than take the football field
Shane O'Bree's disposal is something we should be teaching our youngsters in Auskick - smooth and silky......

All positives FIGJAM!!!

Pies top 6 in 2006! :p

GO PIES! :D

I'll also flick you if you're being a ********stick, so you're on very thin ice!

ok ignoring the tool stain melbourne supporter

Yakka is actually very quick - hasn't really showed it yet but he has outstanding times for the 20 m sprint etc.
had no pre-season last year due to injury (and being a first year draftee - finishing school) and had niggles throughout the year

will be a good player

Needs a very solid season in the VFL to stay an AFL player. Would hope he polls highly in the Willy b&f. You only get two or three years in this game to make a name for yourself, and he's largely wasted the first, so he needs to make amends in 2006. Plus hopefully play a few senior games.

Is he any good? Dunno. Hope so.

What i have seen of him he has a great work ethic..... good in and under player (even though hes not a big boy yet)...

just not quite upto AFL level yet... half way through next year i expect to see him playing a rotating role through the midfield. (collingwood not willy)

Iacobucci looked lost when we played St Kilda earlier on in the year. He does have a great work ethic which will help him out a lot in the future.

It would be nice to see him get games next year, but he needs to improve first.

what are you on about?! he is quite a big boy for his age and its not his size that is holding him back from playing AFL! in fact i think if he bulked up anymore he would lose the little speed he already has!

work ethic is good but is not something that characterises him!

The way I see the Booch:

-He's not as slow as people suggest - he's much like Dane Swan in that respect, although I think he's even bit quicker than Swan. I'd say he'd be about as quick as Julian Rowe or Ben Davies in terms of pace.

-He's got a good nuggety build, and he's actually not as short as some of the other players of his type, at 180cm.

-His kicking is good, and accurate, but not really long.

-He is entirely an inside player. Would pretty much need to be played on the ball, as I don't know that he'd work as a winger or flanker, because I don't know that he's too good out in space. He could possibly work as a small defender, but he has yet to play as one to my knowledge.

He is not slow at all. He just has average AFL pace. With our lack of pace we are quick to call anyone not quick slow. He is slightly less zippy than Holland.
I like Iacobucci he is a very well rounded player.
He is at the same stage 70% of the AFL were at his age/1st year on the list.
As soon as the likes of O'Bree, C.Morrison, Woewodin, Lockyer are on the way out he will become a senior player. He will replace Paul Licuria in the long term. We may have a ****house midfield, but thats mostly because we have the same type of midfielders. Iacobucci is fighting for the same role as Holland, Licuria, O'Bree, Woewodin C.Morrison and Lockyer are. We can't just replace old for new, it takes time.
I think Yakka will play at least 10 games this year.

Yakka is a good kid, ive seen him out a couple of times @ various social venues in melbourne. Had a chat to him and seems like his very very down to earth kid... Was sensible on the night even though the season was over for him whilst some of his Collingwood team mates who have now been delisted were absolutely off their head on who knows what!!
Happy they have been delisted.. No names.

Why, if they are no longer at the club

He's what??

The Willi matches I saw him in, he was pretty good! Typically Collingwood to expect instant success.

He underachieved in his debut season compared to Egan Rusling T Cloke O'Brien Davies and Fanning. Nobody's expecting instant success, but he ended 2004 no further up the pecking order than when he started it. I'll take your word for it that he played ok, but I stand by my comment that he needs a big 2006 for Willy to prove he will be a long term Collingwood player.

Truth is an absolute defence against Defamation.

your right, but i think now with the new drug code players will settle down alot.. There is a drug problem in footy & its about time that there are some harsh penalties...

Saying that, i think that players should be able to do whatever they want off season. There should be no testing off season.
