I hope Silvagni doesn't end up being Drum v2.0
Michael Barlow might be 21 years old, but many see him as the “hottest property in the VFL”. He has spent 2009 playing in the VFL for Werribee and after a stellar season was rewarded with the Fothergill-Round Medal for the best young talent in the competition. He also took home the Werribee Tigers Best and Fairest, and was selected in the 2009 VFL Team of the Year. On top of all that he almost took home the JJ Liston Trophy (VFL Best and Fairest) but fell agonizingly short to be the runner-up.
Michael Barlow is a ball winner with plenty of pace, but also has the ability to go forward thanks to his height (189cm) for a few goals or even in defence to try and shut a player down.
Barlow played 17 games for the seniors in 2009, and on 14 occasions was in their best players highlighting why he was the Best and Fairest for Werribee. He has the ability to average 30 disposals a game, and has also kicked bags of goals, in particular, 4 against the Bendigo Bombers in round 20. He excelled at the Victorian screenings with a 20 meter sprint time of 2.89 seconds and a beep test result of 14.12.
