Some quality stuff from the newbies (other than Lalor's stuff above, of course)
- Trainor did very well to halve this 1on1 wing chase contest

- Armstrong was immense with his focus on the footy here (so was Oliver Hollands, to be fair; both were intensely focused)

- Trainor with the tough spoil on Williams and then the follow-up dive across Cripps' attempt at a snap! Huge

Vlastuin especially was notable in these plays...
- Flossy chasing back and corralling the much nimbler Jesse Motlop; nice.

- Did enjoy Vlastuin flattening Walsh fairly (even though he was penalised for late contact)

- Flossy always desperate to prevent any snap at goal; smothering Evans here.

Some other quality plays
- Mansell good swing around and quality I50 kick and a strong mark from Bauer (shame he missed the shot)

- Great follow-up desperation from Trezise here to get tackled hard and still smother an I50 kick.

- Brown with great defensive positioning and execution here

- Nank with some smooth moves to beat 3 in traffic :) Looks even better in slow motion.

- KMac hammers Cripps in a strong tackle here.

- Banks with good pressure to win the footy, and the follow-up outlet

- A very good play here by a bunch of youngsters; shame the kick missed the goals.

As always, there's more GIF's over in the Richmond GIF's thread :) from this post -> https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/richmond-gifs.1047662/post-87042906

KMac brilliantly hassles in the middle to Mansell's re-gather after the fumbled mark and the dodge of Hollands' tackle then the ability to get it to Lynch on the goal line; nice.

Speaking of Lynch's mark in the goalsquare, at the game, they put a stat up on the screen that I pointed out to Michaels.

His accuracy from that spot over his career was 51%. 10|16|15 was the breakdown of his shots. 🤣

It is Sunday and I still cannot stop thinking about this game. Also it is so strange watching with all these unfamiliar faces playing. For so many years it was the same blokes, you get to know how they move and the decisions they make. It was all so predictable. Now I barely recognise the players and have no idea what many of them will do. It’s awesome.

Here's some good examples of how good the #1 pick can be (a sign of things to come, I and I'm sure every Richmond supporter hopes):

- This leaping mark... impressive vertical and strength through the core.

- A nice fend on Weitering here and the smart quick give to Dow

- Some clean bodywork to ensure Haynes couldn't get in the way of Lalor marking this.

SOme good football in there. Hustling, pressure. Some good goal kicking form Hopper and Ross . Browns was clutch too. Lalor and Trainor looks like they are at the he level already.

Losing Lynch will make it harder. He was a target all game. Bauer as back up ruck didn't look good. .. I
Armstrong and Fawcett and Bauer is too green. No back up ruck.
I think Ryan might get a game

Brown with the solid counter-attacking intercept after a ball just goes over Docherty's fingertips, Lynch does well to contest against two players and Mansell swoops to get the goal

This was clutch….excellent by brown to run from the back line to take this grab

His dad Paul Brown ex scats player….been posting pictures of himself in the tigers fan gear….get on board campaigners

Indeed another highlight is seeing how our players’ family members who went/played for other clubs were out rocking their tigers gear

Have a feeling we might lose by some margin against Port. I just feel it will be hard to keep up the same energy when it isn't round 1 and it's against an opposition crowd. We also lost most statistics in the match. And no Lynch means he won't be there after each goal to advise the rest of the forwards. I'm not sure what we will do against teams that don't have to send in a midfielder to ruck with McIntosh. I hope I'm wrong though as it would be very good signs for the season. Stoked with how round 1 went either way

You know what’s funny, the players were different but that 3rd quarter especially was like watching us 2017-2020, the pressure, forward half turn overs, forward handballs etc… so much fun. That’s the clubs dna!

Gees Murphy Reid played well…he was on our radar…mad tiger supporter family….I guess we needed a few more draft picks
Is he the one his family cracked it when we didn't pick him?

this game made me forget that in carlton's last game they were down 0-60 v Brisbane. in a final.
