No one in government, federal or state, is interested.
Put on back burner.
AFLW, if anything, has deteriorated.
Collingwood two points at three quarter time.

get your AFLW hate googles off

the redevelopment in some shape or form needs to happen because we lack the space for what we currently do at the club. Since it was built the KGI has expanded, we are running a transition high school, we are providing a swinbourne uni product, we are managing our NG zone, we are managing Aligned Leisure, we have a VFL and a VFLW side operating out of there, AND we have significantly increased our coaching staff, fitness and development staff, and our ops/commercial teams.

As was said last year, the redevelopment IS happening, its size scope and timing however will be dictated upon what level of govt funding we get. And a reminder, having AFLW involvement has been a key reason govts have been funding these arrangements recently. Remove that, you remove a key lever for that funding access.

How do you know that?

Haere Ra

scoreboard? :p

jokes aside, yes the Vic election has come and gone, but anyone thinking Shorten will be announcing funding decisions for stuff like this until closer to May is kidding themselves. Even Andrews will have the incentive to delay and work with Shorten to try and maximize the benefit for the feds.

quasi modo had no issue giving money to the druggos even though their facility is much newer than ours

its extending it to increase the scope of ops for paralympics australia ahead of 2020 olympics (essentially becoming their main victorian base)

bigfooty bullshit aside, this is actually a good thing - paralympic sports are mostly neglected when it comes to funding compared to the more high profile stuff

yes it has nothing to do with the fact he is an essendrugs supporter. i bet if tigers were based there it would be a no go

we picked the wrong time to win a flag it seems

Morrison is a sharks supporter, and has said he doesn't support a specific afl team (although he has been a quasi dogs supporter due to Eade)

Haha. Very good.

There may be all sorts of forces in play in the lead up to May, on all sides.

Hopefully that whenever they do said development the vines they've tried to grow are abandoned. It's a nice nod to our history but it's been executed poorly imo and instead is an eyesore and is the major impression of the venue tens of thousands get as they walk from Richmond station to the G weekly.

Yes.
The Collingwood AFLW team scored 0.2 until three quarter time, then added 1.1 in the final quarter.
Meantime, Carlton receives $35 million from the state and federal governments for stadium redevelopment.
$20 million state, $15 million federal.

surely they would look at having their mens team play at princess park again now..they would be stupid not to move the majority of their etihad games there

Seems weird that the government would pay for the redevelopment of a football club. I know it's common practice but where's the payoff for the tax payers? Wouldn't the state government be better to completely redevelop Richmond station etc?
