Opinion Put it on the line. Who do you want to draft in 2021?

There's really about 8 players I'd happily take with Pick 5(7). A few of them will be gone by that pick, but maybe we get lucky again this year like we did when DGB slid to us.
Rachele, Callaghan, Andrew, Ward, Hobbs, Gibcus, Sinn, Erasmus...any of them would be great, and if we trade a future pick with one of our second rounders to grab a second one of them should they have slid outside the top 10, then that would be even better.

Thread's not really made for Collingwood supporters because unless we live trade, we probably won't have a second pick until the mid-40s.

If we were to trade our future first into 5-10 this draft, I'd like Gibcus. Eventual Howe replacement which may not be far away.

If we were to trade something into a late teens/early twenties pick I'd like a Knevitt type (to hopefully fulfil the position that Sier never filled) or otherwise a Chesser type to push one of our existing backs into the middle.

Yeah it’s very hard for us Pies supporters to know what picks we’ll end up with. But Dekka said we’ll be either taking Daicos + either 2 or 3 players. Therefore I’d be keen on a mix of any of the following (on the basis that those picks will be mid to late draft):

* Leek Alleer
* Lachy Rankin
* Paul Curtis
* Arthur Jones
* Patrick Voss (still reckon Gws take him as an academy selection though)
* Lewis Rayson
* Connor McDonald
* Brady Hough
* Sam Banks
* Corey Warner
* Youseph Dib (still holding out hope we take him)

The one I’d love to see slide to late second round and us somehow trade back in for is Zac Taylor. Although that’s probably a pipe dream.

Sinn is the one I've become attached to even if it's less than a 1 in 10 chance he slides to our first

for the Tiges and based on my experience of never seen any of these kids kick a ball, I’ll go for in order of pref:
pick 7(9) Hobbs, Ward, Sinn, Erasmus, Johnson
pick 15 (17) - assume all above gone - Wilmot, chesser , Sonsie, Goater, Knevitt
3 x late 20’s - Howes, Williams, Taylor, Bazzo, Jud Clarke, Long, McDonald, Lohmann.

what could go wrong??

For West Coasts later picks I'd like to see us take Miller Bergman and Charlie Dean

Pick 14: NWM, Goater, Sinn
Pick 18: Chesser, Bazzo, Wilmot, T. Brown
Pick 41: Banks, Dean, Aleer, Fejo Jr

Semi-Realistic Pick 18 Primary Targets....Goater or Chesser.
V Happy if Goater taken (likely) and we still managed to land Chesser at 18.
If both taken by 18
3. Knevitt
4. Taylor
5. van Rooyen

Pick 31 and 39 in order of preference.

1. Bazzo
2. Shedrick
3. Long
4. Warner
5. Alleer

Goater or Wanganeen-Milera (whoever is available) at 11.

Later pick - Ned Long.
If we have to trade up from one of 3rd rounders or trade back into the second round for him with a future, do it.

Josh Rachele who I really rate, possibly not my 1st choice but right up there at the point end....mainly to piss off several members of the Adelaide board that continue to knock him as a prospect for us.

Kai Lohmann at whatever pick it takes to land him whether that be trading up or down, just draft him.

I'll be over the moon if Mac Andrew gets to Hawthorn at 7. But I'll be excited for anyone who goes at that pick (I have questions over Rachelle but I'll get over it within 5 mins).

If any of Sonsie, Draper, JVR, Butler, Wilmot slide to 21/24 I think that would be great for Hawthorn. Otherwise I'm also keen on Knevitt, Motlop, Bazzo, Taylor.

Alleer, Banks, Tunstill, Hough, Williams, Stretch, Jones, Lieu are some names I like if they slide late/rookie.

My final iteration

Johnson
Sheldrick
Alleer
Arthur Jones

Midfield class, contested bull, high upside kpp and flying winger

Noooo I want MJ and Sheldrick :(

For GWS ... I'd love Callaghan + Rachele, would be perfect for us - but the latter won't happen. As a second choice, Callaghan + Andrew OR Gibcus would tick our needs box. Still don't think that happens. I can live with Callaghan + Blake Howes. They'll be good. The Orange Tsunami will return.

For our first two picks…

7. MJ (likely unavailable), Gibcus, Hobbs in that order. If talent is even for these three I’d go the tall. But the recruiters have seen these guys more than me to make that call.

15. Sonsie (or open to JVR if we don’t get Gibcus at 7).

Gibcus and Sonsie would be a nice balance for us and let us draft less for needs with our three picks in the 20s.

Alternately Hobbs and JVR could be a good mix as well, but I’d prefer a Gibcus/Sonsie combo.

If our picks stay the same, something like this:

17: Blake Howes or Campbell Chesser

37: Jack Williams if available. If not best available player.

49: If a Tall Forward isn't picked at 37, then this might be a chance to get one (our most pressing need if Weideman never eventuates into what we need him to be). Otherwise once again best available. Possibly another team may bid for Taj Woewodin (Father-Son) by now and we're all set to match.

57: Could even pick up Woewodin here if no bid comes, otherwise once again best available player.

Rookie 1st Round: Andy Moniz-Wakefield (NGA) or best available as we may also be able to grab him as a SSP/Cat B if no one bids during the drafts.

After seeing his his 100m-400m and 2km times for athletics carnival and combine testing…. Definitely happy to take Finn Callaghan. Freakish. At about 6’3” and probably about 90kg in his first year…. Thanks Pies!!!
What were the times big Pete?

9 Ward
17 Sinn
28-30 Whoever is left out of (Taylor, Sonsie, Brown, Bazzo, Willliams, Sheldrick, Knevitt, Motlop, Chesser, Alleer, Clarke, McDonald)
