Interesting how quick Brouch announced his intention to stay following Pyke's resignation.

I expect that’s occurred because his manager was fielding big offers so he was able to force our hand. Same thing that happened to CC except we didn’t put our hands in pocket for him.

Somewhat surprised about the sudden reverence of Pyke on here now that he's finally gone.
Always wanted to surround Don with better assistants.

I also recognise he chose the safe path rather than the hard one.

He’s been saying it for a month now

Conspiracy theory 7845 busted

The only reason why he may undertake the Review process is throw certain people under the bus cough* cough* Burton and Campo, that basically killed his coaching career at the Crows.

He still might, the Review is meant to be a confidential process. He may feel comfortable to disclose to Dunstall who is of solid character and reputation without fear of a leak and repercussions. Sure while it may look like sour grapes, if it confirms and validates the general feeling of input the Review committee receives it can be a positive.
I think he ought to be/will be interviewed by Dunstall & Co being a key element of what has happened over the last few seasons. If the External Review doesn't want to interview Don, it would be like the FAA not being interested in interviewing the pilot of the plane in an air accident because the pilot resigned.

If they don't interview Don, it would have to be because they don't want to hear what Don has to say to protect remaining idiots - wouldn't think Don would be unwilling to be interviewed.

It sounds like Don may already have had a preliminary meeting with reviewers when he spoke of the feedback he'd been hearing and conversations he's had that led to his decision to resign.

Except your “expectation” is wrong
More made up bullshit

Apart from the WA connection, why would Freo want Pyke after he proved himself to be a mediocre coach with shortcomings that were plain to see for the rest of the competition?

I've always like Don.

I just don't think he ever had a chance. With this admin and our line coaches.

I would have liked a clean out around Don but it wasn't meant to be.

If he's the scapegoat we will do this all again in 2-3 years time.

Wish him success

Still had the highest win loss ratio of any crows coach.
Sometimes you cant do much with a bunch of idiots around you and if the players have given up due to the camp

Sometimes I wonder about the customary head coach axing. The majority of fans wouldnt know Burtons involvement with the club, or who our assistants are, or any of these little tid bids of info we manage to scrape together on here. The masses just follow the club and many vanish when times get tough and the team is losing. But these are the masses. So when they hear the head coach is gone, it kinda pleases the masses and these uninformed casual supporters are satisfied.

I’d have been happy for him to stay another year with decent assistants. I still think he’d fail, too much belief in experience, continuity and sticking to plan A regardless of opponents strengths or weaknesses.

He's the perfect guy to put in as a senior assistant to a guy like Longmuir.

He'd do well as a senior assistant, but my post was in reference to him being head coach. Similarly, I wouldn't be against Ross coming here if he was in a similar role.
