Yeah not sure who in AFLQ offices you are talking to NB but if they rate him the equivalent of Payne then hopefully they arent involved in selecting any rep squads this year.... He's played for Port Douglas who win by alot most weeks - not the toughest side to play well in as a mid. Hope he goes well for you but I would just say settle down a little... :)

Not getting overawed at all.Havent seen him play just what I’m hearing.When doing some homework on him the Port Douglas president rates him the best player he has seen up there in 20 years and they have had some beauties.Also returning Noosa player David Welsh who played last 6 or 7 years at south cairns rates him extremely highly and I respect his opinion.Have to wait and see!Aspley will be hard to beat especially at graham road where we haven’t played for 3 years.Happy to be back there though that other joint has no atmosphere whatsoever!

Are you speaking of Brendale with the coaches boxes some 40-50 meters back from the ground? I asked one day and was told that flooding restricted the build. Great surface is what that ground has going for it and that's it.

Think most people are sleeping on the kings & pumas as big contenders.
Both quietly gone about their business in different ways but added some keys assets to their squads.
 
Very good footy ground Graham rd I reckon. Good surface, good size albeit narrow and easy to get to from the SC... :) Good luck.

And unlike previous years I'm not sure depth is going to be a major consideration. 8 games wont have the same wear and tear on bodies and before you know it you are running into finals anyway. Bit of a sprint race really.

Back Into div 1. Was one of the guarantees given by aflq to any club who was struggling due to CV situation this year.

Yes if they get him back from up north I’m sure he will add a bit to them. But still think there is still a gap.

Talking to Springwood people they have lost a few and reckon they nowhere near as good as last year.

Luke would be 38 as I was involved with him at Redlands in 2000 as an 18 year old. Super fit though and only looks about 30 lucky bugger

I am involved at Springwood and only really missing Fris and Pringle and playing a lot of younger blokes. Jai Keneally balances the books a fair bit and on the weekend against Uni we didnt have PAGE and BROWN and Bain injured his back in warm up so only had 21. Should have won irrespective of that so Pumas will be competiitive again

Yeah fully expecting the pumas and kings to be really competitive.I think already after two rounds been very evident that sides have improved quite significantly due to neafl players trickling back and the shorter season.Game could have gone either way at Aspley on Saturday and whilst conditions were pretty horrendous think the hornets will be pretty serious contenders.Looking forward to another home game against another consistent season performer in Cooparoo on Saturday.Game will be live streamed through our Facebook page !
It’s our first ever crack at this so hopefully all goes well.

That's pretty exciting NB about the live streaming. Who is filming? And what platform is the connection? Be great to see how it goes which may lead to some other clubs following suit

We have a retired abc football cameraman who has filmed all our games over past 2 years.Mainly for Bovas’ reference however with the help of full forward Liam Kenny who is an IT guru we’ve decided to have a crack at live streaming.Will get back to u on the platform and connection,IT not my thing I’m just the commentator!

That live stream is a great idea hope it goes well and also gives a chance of having a squiz at Noosa and obviously Coorparoo and the additions since we beat them. I mentioned to Stacky that Ben Collins Coached my old side Belgrave and had his brothers also at the Club where Michael kicked 100. I played there before he was born so it is quite a while ago in the 70.s.
