Weekend Wrap and "Liked, Learned, Hated" right here -- How did tipping go?

North/south does not work. It failed 10 years ago. It’s failing now. I’m sure the bottom half of Div 2 north and south would rather drive longer and play each other then getting flogged every week. The swans are no way near Div 1 either. Blow it all up and start again.Well the ‘split’ would be more south of the city rather then using the river to mark south and north. Curious where they draw the line at north and south.
Although I’d argue Hinterland, Caloundra, Moreton, Sandgate, Redcliffe, Mayne, Kedron, Pine Rivers maybe would be the Div 1 north.
South would be Springwood, UQ, Yeronga, Kenmore, Alex Hills, Bond Uni, Burleigh and/or Cooly. However can’t really add anymore teams into that as the rest won’t be up to standard. Unless Mt Gravatt come in. And make it a 9 team comp.
Rest of them go into Div 2. With the biggest drive being Gympie or Tweed.

Totally see that point as well.North/south does not work. It failed 10 years ago. It’s failing now. I’m sure the bottom half of Div 2 north and south would rather drive longer and play each other then getting flogged every week. The swans are no way near Div 1 either. Blow it all up and start again.
Doubt any chance aflq would send mt gravatt back after keeping with them this longWell the ‘split’ would be more south of the city rather then using the river to mark south and north. Curious where they draw the line at north and south.

Always workedTotally see that point as well.
So go back to the old standard Div 1,2 and 3 maybe? Fridays become Div 4.
Not sure pine can afford to stack their twos each week!Pine are stacking the twos or setting some training standards judging by a few names that played Ressie's on the weekend
I think Will can only play every now and then because of work commitments.A decent round in my opinion on the weekend.
Yeronga v Alex Hills looked a close one.
Logan City got closer to Kenmore than I think most of u expected..
Redcliffe still miles ahead.
I noticed 2024 Senior Premiership best on ground winner Will Lovett laced the boots up for the redcliffe ressies.. They just keep adding fire power after fire power. Shows the depth and culture the club has created over the years. Good for them
Go on…… more info soughtI think Will can only play every now and then because of work commitments.
I also heard that there were a few dust ups on and off the field at the Redcliffe game.
a few dust ups? What's happened?I think Will can only play every now and then because of work commitments.

That’s because the clubs are allowed to self select their grading. Whilst there will always be winners and losers there are so many options to get it closer.Qld comps r fcked. Every second round is non-competitive. Reckon 9/10 people could predict the ladder every year.
Just heard there was a dust up in or around the bar area.Go on…… more info sought

As discussed previously on this forum self interest suggests you don’t move. But surely there is a competition integrity issue that every sport association across the country has to administer. Sorry but this “we’ll lose players if we go up” theory simply means being fluid in the divisions each year and a club may move up and back, and up again as each year is completed. No club stays up because of pride alone, sure give them a chance to rebuild in a specified timeframe, and no club stays down for silverware alone. So honest question - what’s the advantage from a clubs perspective of going up a grade (apart from the obvious one of playing in a better competition)
I think before any changes are made to any divisions there needs to be a full forum with at least 2 representatives from each club to discuss and put forward opinions and options as to what the leagues should look like moving forward from QAFL to at least Div 2 and the Friday Night Competitions a different conversation. As discussed previously on this forum self interest suggests you don’t move. So honest question back. If Sandgate, Moreton Bay & Hinterland drop back (not saying they should immediately) from Division 1 to Division 2 do they dominate all the top teams in both North & South?
