I’d be thinking 80k minimum - lots of MCC Members are Cats fansIt's the only week one final in Melbourne, so there's an instant attendance boost from AFL/MCC members. Public sales, who knows? You'd be looking at 70k min.

If we do win... who is our preferred Gabba prelim opponent?
Crows, Pies, Giants
I'd be leaning towards the Crows?

93k last year for the Prelim, albeit a Prelim. Only game in Melbourne for the weekend and on a Friday night, I'd expect 80-90k.It's the only week one final in Melbourne, so there's an instant attendance boost from AFL/MCC members. Public sales, who knows? You'd be looking at 70k min.

Giants it would depend if Hogan plays. Without Hogan, they don't scare me as much.Anyone but GWS. The Giants are the only team left that worry me a bit.
With any luck the Suns or Hawks will knock them out.Driving me nuts that we need to lose to the Cats to avoid them until the GF.

Besides the second half of the semi final, the last few times we have met them all I can remember is Finn Callaghan roaming around the wings with about 50 meters of space hitting Hogan / Cadman lace out like a training drill.Giants it would depend if Hogan plays. Without Hogan, they don't scare me as much.
Giants would have the added incentive of a bit of revenge for their choke in the semi final last year, Dunkley to Callaghan, Starcevich to Greene, stop Darcy Jones run.If we do win... who is our preferred Gabba prelim opponent?

Definitely the Pies. They're cooked
Email this pm said we could buy up to 10 tickets per member barcode for the Cats game. That’s happened in previous years as well as I took a couple of friends with my barcode,I know you can not get guest tickets to the Grand Final but I can not recall if there are guest passes available to the other Finals.... very much doubt the MCG will be a sell out for our QF v the Cats.
Anyone with a better memory than me can recall? Thought I'd shout my grandson down for the game for his 18th birthday present, his party is the next night so if the return flight gets cancelled/delayed at least he is with us.![]()
I worry about the pies and their extra 4 AFL players in green.Collingwood aren't the side they were a couple of months ago, however a home prelim (should we beat Geelong) against them would have a much more neutral crowd as opposed to one against Adelaide or GWS.
No current season stats available
This will be 90+ make no doubt about it. Prelim was 93 from memory. It's the only week one final in Melbourne, so there's an instant attendance boost from AFL/MCC members. Public sales, who knows? You'd be looking at 70k min.
Reminds me of the old VLSG "guess the crowd" comp. It's the only week one final in Melbourne, so there's an instant attendance boost from AFL/MCC members. Public sales, who knows? You'd be looking at 70k min.
Jack Riewoldt, Jordan Lewis, Nathan Buckley and Jono Brown On the Couch all gave the Lions a massive wrap regarding their adaptable game style, have a few different modes of attack, can go kick mark up the field, can go overlap run/chaos footy, Lions react to what the opposition do. The players all commit to their defensive come forward at the ball carrier mantra.
