As I said, purely based on the forecast. N.Brown, Jolly, Reid, Dawes, L.Brown and Cloke all in the one tean on a wet night? Seems a bit top heavy

Would you Drop N Brown then as Reid could go to Hall and they don't have a 2nd Tall Forward?

Surely Brad Johnson isn't fit and Griffen won't play.

Medhurst for Dawes late change? Seems logical given the conditions...
NO CHANCE.

Dawes actually plays very well in the wet, and has had plenty of experience on "dodgy" grounds at VFL level.

Some supporters obviously didn't watch the game last week, because Dawes would have probably been rated as one of our top 3 players, and most of it had to do with his work once the ball hit the ground.

Dawes was great last week, HE IS PLAYING, leave Dave's heart rate alone.:p

Our main issue is no Presti to take BBB Hall.

Hall has kicked 3 & 4 goals in our 2 games this year, so if Nate can limit him to 3 or 4, he's done an OK job.

We just can't let someone else beat us.

Wet balls will be the undoing of the Dogs. We'll win this well.:thumbsu:
Yeah, Dog's smell bad when it's wet too. (Not that I have any idea how that will effect the game).:p

No taller then the dogs with Hudson, hall, grant, lake, Williams and Minson (who Leroy is more mobile than anyway)

Knowing Presti is out, I'm glad it's going to be wet.

Hall is a lead and mark player regardless of his build and that is the type of player our Nathan Brown struggles with. He is a very good one on one defender in a stay at home contested situation and should do a reasonable job on Hall if his leading is restricted. Pouring rain will mean there is less run and carry, greater numbers around the ball and slower movement wil mean a more congested forward line for Hall to operate in. His leading will be restricted and he will be forced to wrestle.

Brown was smashed last week but I don't think he's been badly beaten in any other game this year. He ate Tippet alive just the week before. We shouldn't lose faith in him. Franklin is a MUCH better player than Hall and that was an incorrect matchup anyway. Brown just isn't suited to playing on someone that agile. Reid would have been the ideal matchup but MM knows only 1 of these two youngsters will be in our 22 when Presti comes back and therefore the flow-on psychological affects would be hurt the team far more if it was Reid getting a battering. It was his first game back from injury anyway.

Collingwood > Footscray. Keep the faith :thumbsu:

Weather means we don't need Presti as much as we would have in dry conditions. Weather will make Brown/Reid's job FAR easier.

Happy with the changes though.

I love Sack but he's been terribad lately.

Given the weather, I feel we could have rested either Cloke or Dawes and brought in Medders.

If its really really wet, then I don't think a swap of N.Brown for Goldsack would be a bad idea.

L.Brown can play on Hall if he gets hold of Reid. Goldy/Maxy/Harry could all play on Grant.

Would like to see us line up like this:

B: Maxwell N.Brown Toovey
HB: O'Brien Reid Shaw
C: Thomas Swan Wellingham
HF: Didak Cloke Sidebottom
F: Davis Dawes Macaffer
R: Jolly Pendlebury Ball
INT: Blair L.Brown Beams Johnson

IMO that team is our best 22 barring Presti.

Bring on Sat night!

Im spewing Presti isnt back but if he isnt 100% fit then no reason to risk him.

Winning this final is very very important.

If we win we face the prospect of playing against St Kilda or Hawthorn.

It is VERY important Presti is 100% fit to tackle either of these teams because of Franklin and Riewoldt.

(Would be very surprised to see Griffen play.. knee injuries arent something to muck around with)

I reckon if it is as wet as they are expecting Medhurst is a chance to come in for a tall, Dawes maybe??

Noooo said earlier, Dale Morris is their 2nd best tall defender and isn't playing. Lets use this to our advantage, they"ll probaly have to use that spud Minson down back. works well imo :p

Shouldn't Harry play on Barry?

Hahn will play back as the 3rd tall with Hargrave helping out at times.
