Does anyone know where you can easily find your membership barcode to buy/upgrade general admission tickets?

My brother has lost his physical card and that's the only place I'm aware of it being. As an aside, it's silly the member ID (seven digits) doesn't work.
it could be emailed to you, too?

Everyone has a membership card linked to the Essendon app. Just have to log in.

Not sure where this goes, so will put it here.

Monday Cal-culations: Why Big Freeze could have been different

DEMONS' BIG FREEZE SLIDING DOORS

THIS WEEK will mark 10 years since the first Big Freeze at the 'G game – the Neale Daniher-led movement that has made for a sea of blue beanies at the annual Melbourne and Collingwood King's Birthday game.

The Big Freeze fundraiser for motor neurone disease research and treatment in support of finding a cure for the disease started a year after Daniher had publicly revealed his MND diagnosis.

But it was close to not being a Demons game, if not for timing.

It was Essendon that was first approached in 2014 by the Big Freeze team to host and build into their next blockbuster game. Daniher's history at Essendon was significant as a former star player and assistant coach and was where he had played alongside his three brothers at the club.

But the Bombers decided against taking up the chance to make an event of the Big Freeze game as they were in the midst of the anti-doping scandal. Keeping the club together whilst battling an unprecedented low point in the Bombers' history meant they had to pass on the chance to build a new blockbuster. They already had Anzac Day and Dreamtime at the 'G then, but their Country Game, honouring Australia's rural community against Geelong, started in 2016.

Given Daniher's reverence at Melbourne, where he was senior coach for 10 years between 1998-2007, the Demons were next to be approached and jumped at the opportunity to combine the Big Freeze with the June public holiday match against Collingwood.

KING'S BIRTHDAY Get your seat for Demons v Magpies NOW

It has become the perfect marriage.

Celebrities and former players have jumped at the chance to take part in the Big Freeze slide pre-game, the fundraising gains enormous momentum, beanies have been a masterstroke, the games have been evenly split (5-4 Collingwood's way over the 10 years so far after having to change plans in 2020) and Daniher's stature as a hero has only grown. This year, with Daniher the Australian of the Year, might be the most special yet.

Probably should be better at using the search function but is bigfooty dyeing? The quantity and quality of mainboard posting feels like its at an all time low? Is there stats to back this up or is it all in my head?

Chief might know or be able to find out any stats, doubt anyone outside of admin would know for sure though

This is a bit random and it might be a bit rich coming from a Tiger fan so pile on as you wish BUT!
As said Richmond fan, I have a keen eye for mediocrity and can’t help but think coach Scott is hiding behind the whole injury thing.
I went (and stayed) to the game between our two teams and thought he just put numbers behind the ball. Like seriously WTF mate? I know you have injuries but the narrative from him would irk me if he was at Richmond. I don’t expect you are thinking of a 12 game winning season but the whole hiding behind injuries and then coaching negatively for whatever reason helps noone except the coach. I am not sure how others feel but I would love to see Essendon roll the dice with someone new to senior coaching and be supported with an experienced group of assistants and a footy director like say Adam Simpson or even Ken Hinkley who can run the footy side of things while supporting someone who can teach the game while learning the whole coaching caper.
Just my take and as I said - it’s a view from a mile but having seen it all before

TL;DR - On a different planet from most of us here, but there are a couple that agree with you.

Most likely most of us would have agreed with you if this wasn't the severalth coach we've had in the last decade with more or less same old Essington showing up on the field each week regardless of who is in the coaches box.

Scott has enough clout not to be unseated partway through the job (so far), and is the first coach in 30 years to have retained his job after working with a list Adrian Dodoro was managing. It's basically Scott's best trait from an Essendon standpoint. Obviously most clubs wouldn't value this as highly as we are forced to due to our circumstances, but he's smart enough, courageous enough and diplomatic enough to speak truth to power in a way that they'll accept it (so far... I don't have a lot of trust in anything but hard results these days 😬).

In any case, the coaching department is on the same page as the board, the CEO, the list management team, and the captain/players for the first time in eons. He's the right coach for right now. When we have stability across the rest of the club (including the playing list and the S&C department, which are both overdue for a clean out) then we can start to look at on-field performance more closely. At that point, moving to a new coach may be the last piece of our puzzle.

Just watching a Collingwood highlights dvd and there was a clip featuring Essendon, wearing red shorts in the 80’s.
They looked really cool. Not sure why they stopped wearing them.
Maybe it’s time to bring them back.

Always wondered about that. Don’t see any good reason for a black and red club to wear white shorts away against a team that wears white as a base colour. Other than tradition, of course.

Did anyone else fill out the members survey that came over the email today? It was reasonably thorough, maybe too much commercial questions, typically. I did feel sad when I was asked the best moment off the year and nothing came to mind.
