Yep, exactly, hence cheapness.
and RFC's are not on sale because there will be NO changes yet again

If I bought a jumper in 2011 the only difference from then to now is the BLK name change. Losing thousands of dollars RFC

I cant remember where I read it, but I'm pretty sure on of the strongest bits of feedback from supporters to the club re: the institutions of the club is that they DON'T want our jumper changed, and we don't want a Home/Away strip situation like some clubs. We want our traditional strip in all games where possible (we were one of the last to agree to a clash strip, and even then took a minimalist approach)

Even yourself, you complain that the yellow changed, and are still unhappy about this. If you don't like the shade of yellow changing, can you imagine the reaction if they start altering with other elements of the kit?

1) We don't control BLK's sale items.
2) We like the consistency :)
The people in charge obviously can't see that the other clubs are changing their guernseys every 2 years as it gives the supporters a reason to buy a new jumper

I'm not talking about the design of the RFC jumper, that will always be fine, I'm talking about a change of collar every 2 years like other clubs get. Will keep the jumper revenue up

Any news on a potential new clash for 2015 after the clash jumper fiasco this year by the way ?

you are away we have had 10 changes in the last 15 years, covering everything from fonts, numbers, colors, sash curve, and sash shade?

We haven't had a change since 2011, but that also ignores the Kooga/BLK move

finally how often do you think people switch jumpers over a new collar? New design, I definitely agree, but most people probably don't even recognize a minor change like a collar

No clash jumper fiasco, the AFL approved it year in year out. We simply wore on match day what we were told to wear.

All jumper designs are lodged to the AFL in November/December the year before the season, so we'll know later on.

Yes I will definitely go and spend $100+ so I can get a jumper withna different collar:drunk:
You're a tight arse though and wouldn't have a clue if it were legit or Kmart

No just not OCD, I can guarantee less the 5% and that's being generous would notice a collar change and even less would care enough to buy a jumper because of it.

I'm actually surprised by the amount of old Richmond jumpers you see at the footy, I'm not convinced a collar change or font alteration would dramatically increase sales. Sales barely went up when we Kooga changed names to BLK.
A collar change every 2 years like the bigger apparel manufacturers would still boost sales otherwise the bigger apparel manufacturers simply would not do it.

FWIW as someone in the stands, it seems most update when there is a major sponsor change (ie updating from the dicky jumper to the jeep one)

That's what I do.

You guys can debate this all you want but there is extra money to be made by updating the collar every 2 years.. That is why most other club's apparel suppliers do it

Do you have figures to back this up?

Also remember revenues doesn't necessarily convert to profits. Every time you do a jumper change there is a cost in redesign, stock disposal, and redoing all marketing imagery. The profit margin from the increased sales needs to be greater than the costs of making the change.

Based upon my experience, the $39 jumper sales would be less than cost (textiles generally have a 100% mark up give or take)

So 10 year olds are supposed to tell the difference between a jumper with a collar and one without, but an adult can't tell when it's a cheap one without sponsors or the AFL logo? :drunk:

And the fact that fans believe the club snips them for more jumper sales, to the detriment of the fan, who has to fork out the cash once more.

I believe both Bingle and Jeep are signed up till 2016 (maybe 17, can't remember) so we will have gone 6 years without a change of sponsor (apart from Kooga renaming themselves to BLK). Stable club and sponsorship = a stable jumper.
