Does thommo stay home this week and CEY comes in after so many consistent games in the 2's? Hopefully seed back for pies

Not a hope in hell. Thommo plays till his 300th against the Pies and if he hasn't returned to something resembling form then they might need to work out how he does.

Mackay sets up a surprising amount of dangerous plays. I say surprising because it always seems like his mistakes are so visible. He's best 22 atm.

Surely we can work vb into the side somehow.

Would be nice to get some extra leadership into the side. Couple if extra goals there alone. But he's 4-5 weeks with a foot injury. So it's not looking too good for VB getting back on the park pre-retirement.

Drop Smith?????!!! Seriously...you guys are clueless.

Others were worse. Brown was barely sighted. Lever and Cheney made a heap of clangers and errors. Hartigan looked out of his depth in patches. Talia went missing a lot. In fact, the entire defence was down today, with the exception of Laird.

Having said that, they've been awesome all year so nobody gets replaced IMO unless there's a heavy loss.

Reset next week vs Carlton. They are shocking....and we should see all the back 6 back to their best.

When our midfield gets beat, our defense looks shit. We lost the contested ball today and were behind in stoppages until late. All defenses find it tougher in these conditions.

It was brad crouch and sloane that saved us.

Two areas we need to improve:
1. medium/small forwards consistently score well against us (Garlett today). Cheney has been serviceable, but I don't think he is essential. Also, when talking about defensive cohesion...that spoil where Talia and Cheney both went up and Garlett strolled into goal has happened 100 times this season...Hartigan, Talia, Lever is enough for talls.

2. Thompson, Lyons, M Crouch...all extremely slow. Add Douglas and B Crouch (who is quick but coming back from injury doesn't seem to have the confidence yet to take the game on) - aside from Sloane our midfield is very one dimensional. Looks like Douglas may have been carrying an injury cause he seemed to have a bit more zip today. Still, I think we need a bit more zip in the middle.

What i think will happen: No changes (unless Seedsman is fit).

What I want to happen:
In: Wigg
Out: One of Cheney, Thompson, M Crouch

If Cheney out, then Wigg plays HBF. If Thompson/M Crouch out then Wigg plays wing and Atkins plays more on the ball.

What I would dream to see:
In: Wigg, CEY, Seedsman (if fit) otherwise Menzel
Out: Cheney, Thompson, Mackay

before people go crazy at the mention of M Crouch...love his aggression, love his hands in close...generally his disposal is not very effective and feel his defensive running is poor. Promising player who I think will develop into an important part of the team, however he can work on defensive running in the SANFL.

Smith's year is being massively underrated. Down today but a very good season. Its like he is so good the expectations are just over the top.

I'd like him up the ground a bit more and play Doedee in the defensive rotation. I reckon Doedee is going to be a gun. But someone playing up the ground has to make way for Smith to move.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Gov rested for a week. Not an advocate for it as he still brings a unique element to our forward line but he's had some knocks and hasn't played this much footy in years.

Mackay was excellent today.

Couple of great little taps to advantage that won't be on the stats sheet also.

My thoughts - unchanged.

I'm a huge fan. But he definitely struggled for a while after that hit. Returned to normal later in the game but I do wonder if that knock might be worthy of a week off. But only if he's straight back in. None of this 'get 20 in the 2's to tune up shit'.

Houston,... we have a problem.:D I can't see it. His off ball stuff is elite.

Can the bar get any lower, excellent??? Was passable again, had some very poor moments and a couple good and the rest basically any player ranked between 23 and 28 could provide. Much like most of the rest of his year.
