Was thinking last night, this was the team that is starting to gel and play well. Missing is

Keane
Rankine
Hinge
Ah Chee
Cumming
Butts
Draper

Who comes out to fit them in? I get injuries will help with the selection but whats our best team to play like we want

Rankine - Pedlar
Keane - Murray/Borlase
Hinge - doubtful he plays this year
Ah Chee - play this very cautiously and have him cherry ripe for finals, but it should be Keays, or Turray with TT in the ruck if we decide to go smaller, not against this idea
Cumming - Nank
Butts - Murray/Borlase
Draper - I think sadly we write off 2026 for Drapes.

You could probably copy and paste my Turray and Fogarty comment to last week too.

Turray had a poor game and Fogarty could have got more involved.
Fog had 2 marks not paid . Could have ended up with 3 goals . Having said that we do want more from him . Still worth keeping in the team though. Turray needs to go back to 2s

Only the top 2, and probably Butts should come straight in.

The rest have to earn their spot in the SANFL or wait for injuries.

Draper keeps Soligo honest.

Keep Ah Chee on ice until we play Geelong again.

I think Hinge could squeeze him out. Probably has at least one more week before the coaches need to make that decision.
I don't see us rushing Hinge back in particular considering his last AFL game.
Cumming is 2-3 weeks so you'd think Nank has at least 3.

It's interesting looking at things from a potential best 23 scenario from here.

Not in the team right now are:
Walker
Rankine
Cumming
Keane
Hinge
Ah Chee
Butts

From the team that played tonight I'd swap:

Walker for Toby Murray
Rankine for Pedlar
Cumming for Nankervis
Keane for Nick Murray
Butts for Borlase

Hinge probably stays in the SANFL for now.

Ah Chee is a difficult one and it may come down to who is playing well at the time. On recent form it would be Soligo or Keays that drops out, but injuries may mean that it's a decision that never needs to be made.

Ah Chee walks straight in when fit.

Ibis has been great, and funnily enough, he often looks most likely to take a contested mark; however, he probably should be the unlucky one with Tex to return.

I have been against Thilthorpe rucking but I think we just have to bite the bullet. I think he's more valuable in a centre throw up as a ruck than a mid. He can do Luke Jackson things. Imagine if Freo were trying to protect Jackson from centre rucking so he could be more effective around the ground. I know Jackson is more a ruck than Thilthy but you can't refuse to play a guy effectively because you're afraid of injury. Let's hope the talk of protecting Thilthorpe's knees in the centre ruck was false and it was more about his back being ****ed.
