North Melbourne need a big win. Next opportunity (however unlikely) is at Sydney in rd10. Although it's great to rack up wins and would rather peak in Sept our form is a underwhelming in terms of being a premiership contender. Still a long way to go though and at least the Kangaroos have the best platform to build from.

Interested in Port Adelaide. Most people would say they've been horrible but strangely enough are still lurking outside the contender area. Are they being unfairly dismissed?

Lastly Carltons winning streak hasn't not propelled as far as I would have envisaged. More of a slow but assured type of progress. Play the aforementioned Power in what I'd argue is the most intriguing match of the round. Can't wait to see what the squiggle tips.

Carlton beat Freo, Essendon and Collingwood (and none of them by convincing margins). All of them are near the bottom already. So it's not a massive surprise that they haven't moved much.

If geelong had finished higher than 10th last year, would they be higher on the flag pole?
No, I just said that as shorthand for "didn't do very well." It's all about scorelines. The Cats would be higher if they'd had a better finish to 2015, like being competitive with Collingwood in R22 instead of losing by 48.

Tips are always available, it's in forecast.

In saying that what do they need to do to track into premiership territory score wise?

Kangas form is underwhelming for a team at 7-0. They'll be glad to have the 28 points though - they'll need them with a brutal draw to come. Might well finish top 4, but a long way to prove their premiership credentials.

Port haven't beaten anybody good yet. To emerge as a contender, they need to start beating teams in the eight.

Carlton have beaten three teams in horrid form. Nothing much proven there, but I'm sure it feels better than three losses.

I think the squiggle is overrating them a bit atm due to overrating Richmond who are still mid freefall. They probably should still be around where they were before the last two matches.

How about this: 12 Months Ago -> Now

Surprising to see Sydney behind where we were last year. Feels like we are playing better footy too

Might have something to do with their 2014 position carrying over? Always nicer to start higher up.

When do the tips come out for the next round?

Possibly. Hopefully we still finish higher than 2015 by the end of 2016!
