KFC Australia is pulling a cricket-themed advertisement from the airwaves after it caused widespread outrage in the US where it was seen as racist.

Americans are insular idiots. They think their culture should extend beyond their borders. What they consider racist is something different elsewhere. I'm still p1ssed that complained about that Michael Jackson skit on Hey Hey. Like how else do you do satire on the Jackson's without painting your face black. A complete different context to anything racist. If the Americans don't like it they can p1ss off. There's more to the world than their culture. "Context" obviously isn't a word in their dictionary either.

Apparently the ad is racist because it perpetuates the stereotype that African American's can be calmed with a bucket of fried chicken.

Only problem is, the ad is full of West Indians in Australia.

b) Americans are racist but are afraid to be seen as racist.
c) Apparently African Americans like fried chicken.
d) Apparently showing a group who are pigmentally challenged who dance and bang on drums is seen as stereotyping African Americans, even if the people in question are West Indian.
e) They don't know what cricket is.
f) They don't know how passionate WIs are about their cricket.
g) They have never seen footage of WI visiting Australia during cricket matches or cricket matches in WI.
h) The ads have had a similar themes in shutting up pigmentally superior honky tonk white folk but they are not racist.
i) Apparently nobody in the USA has seen the movie White Chicks where African Americans dressed up as white women and mocked every stereotype they could think of, but apparently that isn't racist because the victims are white.
j) Americans have a giant stick up their arse and think just because something might be inappropriate for the USA everyone else has to accept their racist baggage. We have our own baggage thanks, we don't need your shit on top of it.

Amazing - I have seen plenty of ads in the US that I could deem to be racist or offensive. The Yanks are hypocrites...............as someone mentioned, the movie "White Chicks" is racist in many ways and yet nothing is said.

There was a story about it just then showing a gay guy on YouTube talking about how racist it is and then another talk show talking about how racist it is they were like 'how racist is that? you just give them chicken and they start jumping up and down' and then some West Indian spokesperson came out and said that theres nothing wrong with and that they obviously haven't seen them actually watching the cricket.

It's seriously pathetic, they're making it racist, it's just saying that KFC makes people happy, and the West Indies happen to be the touring team, god I hate America.
