Talking about travel got me thinking about bucket lists. Mine is relatively small seeing as I've got a lot of my life to live, but here are a few things I want to achieve:

* Live overseas for a year
* Watch a City match at Eastlands
* Learn to surf, and surf throughout the winter
* Run a half-marathon (don't think I'd be able to do a full one)
* Learn to play golf
* Volunteer with those less fortunate on a regular basis
* Skydive, as daunting as it sounds.

What are your bucket list ideas?

Ionly have 1 atm.

Watch city at coms & at the same time i will be in u.k which i have always dreamed of going 2.

I went to the UK when I was 18 and didn't appreciate it as much as I should have. So when I'm back in July I'll appreciate and soak in every moment.

My bucket list
-See my team win the grand final live at the MCG. Did that in 06.
-Go to the Olympics, which I'm doing in July.
So I am doing well with my bucket list so far! My next aim is new years in New York so I'll see how I go with that next year.

What are your bucket list ideas?

Very interesting line of discussion to start, Mr. Gibbs...

-Well, luckily I've been fortunate enough to visit some amazing places (none in Europe and the Americas however) such as South Africa, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia (yeh not so much :D) in my short lifetime, but I really want to do Europe. I would love to live in either Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen or Stockholm for a while.
-On the sports front, there are a few musts....Test cricket at Lord's, a Major League Baseball match at a iconic ground like Fenway Park or Yankee Stadium, an NFL game anywhere, a NASCAR race, just to sit with some hillbillies, and I'd love to go to any Bundesliga game and witness the sheer passion those fans show for their clubs.
-I'd love to design and build my own house in either Christchurch or Melbourne. It wouldn't be any of this McMansion sprawl crap, it'd be pretty eco friendly and unique. I'd buy on a smallish section and build upwards to two or three levels...

There's plenty of other stuff I'm sure, but I haven't really given much thought to what I'll do in the future. Just realising I'm two years away from moving to Melbourne for uni is daunting enough.

I've always wanted to see a Grizzly Bear...

Really want to learn fluent Japanese as I only speak it very basically right now, and can't write it at all.

Would also love to live in a very cold climate, as I hate hot weather.

Already done a lot of mine...

Ashes test at lords

Watch us win a GF

Watch a game at st james

Watch some american sport live (Ive seen the dolphins and the knicks)

My bucket list includes:-

Go watch the Aussies win the ashes in England

Go to the MCG to watch the Lions win a premiership

Play in a winning Grand Final with my club AFL team DONE

Finish school and get an OP 1

Captain my school cricket team DONE

Go to America and/or Europe

I should have put the stuff on my list that I've already done.

Go to America DONE
Watch an American sports game live DONE (saw the SF Giants at AT&T Park )
Win a sports premiership of any sort DONE (in footy, cricket and tennis... been lucky)

Add watch Collingwood win a GF live to the list of things I haven't done but would like to.

I don't mean to offend you at all, but this all seems really stock and generic.

And that is why I find the idea of a bucket list to be so absurd. You write down ten things and then remember "oh, this!" and "I forgot that one!". We all want to accomplish and do things in our lives. It's a basic part of human nature. It also seems like a recent trend, and it's kind of white bred.

There's a lot I want to do in my life. I'll be happy to do a fifth of it all. I need not write it down.

Bucket List consist of

Watch the Knicks live at Madison Square Garden

Watch Cardinals vs Cowboys live with Dad (I'm cards, he's cowboys)

Travel to New York DONE

Go to Disneyland DONE

Watch the Hawks win a GF live DONE, 2008

Meet and have dinner with Neil Patrick Harris and/or the HIMYM crew

And for my life I would like to play cricket for Victoria, if not Australia.

So if I was American it would be a lot easier :p

I really like the jersey Miami wore today (only pic I can find atm).
