Tornado went right by our house in Birkenhead (we were at school and Mum was waiting for my mate and I to walk across the sports fields, so only the cat saw it ). Our street is totally munted, tradies everywhere, hundreds of walkers and cars flooding past. Yesterday it was gridlocked because police were stopping people from going any further, caused traffic carnage. Power was off until about 10pm too, which was annoying. Our uncle was staying with us from Christchurch, disasters seem to follow him :lol:. Pretty bad carnage on our street. Would have seen the tornado go by from the window in the room I'm in now. If I did, I'm sure I'd have shat myself.

Our house is fine. We walked in at about 3.30 to find the cat jumping about and making a ton of noise, which is unusual (the cat moving part anyway), so the damage to my ears is as bad as it got for us, luckily. It's a nice little suburb, sad to see it like this.
