Really great post mate. Would rep you if BF had that feature.
As for the cute girl... if the Dockers got up you should have just ran over and given her a big hug. And make up something about forgetting your phone number and asking for hers instead :D;)

Also, do we have more Eagles supporters on here than any other team?
Thanks.

I didn't actually go to the game, unfortunately. I can make a couple of games a season, as I live a little further south.

But I see plenty of cute girls at the footy. It's heart-wrenching. You're on the train to Freo and you're squashed up against a fifty year old in polar fleece, and you lock eyes. I swear i've fallen in love with so many girls after Freo games.

Wait... this isn't e-harmony...

Melbourne's jumper looks pinkish during the day, in the flesh. So it's not just night games...

It looked like an amazing finish in the Derby. Pretty pumped about the Hawks too, it was only the second game I've gone to this year (and the first with the family). I seem to have a great record of winning games I go to. :)

I know what you mean, at the Geelong game I saw this cute girl wearing an ochre jumper, perfect woman.
I was going to say something applauding her or agreeing, but, then I remembered she was at an Eagles game, going for the Eagles.

Good to hear you got something out of it, Silent Alarm.

But I really do not see the logic of the term "comeback" applying here, no matter how low scoring the first three quarters were.
Games like this ALWAYS open up in the last quarter, and while the margin is larger in the context of the game, it's only a few straight kicks in reality. External factors (crowd, high risk/high reward motives) only help.

That said, we've only got ourselves to blame to be put in such a situation, obviously kicking was appalling today and would have been exposed by any of the current top four.

I'm not one to get caught up in the umpiring riffraff specifics, but i seldom see games with such frequency of disgraceful momentum/potentially-game-changing decisions.

Ochre, you lucky bastard. I've been to a few away derbies, including last year's - not going into details, I would have loved nothing more than to give some of the same crazies a piece of their own. But i digress.

Lost my shit when watching Ballantyne kick.
It's been said before, but it couldn't have happened to a better person. What goes around comes around, you muppet.

I'm sorry, but it's pretty hard to be gracious when you win like that, against... that :D

A guy sitting near me was wearing a player issue (matchworn??) #4 Daniel Kerr WA State Heritage jumper.

I was drooling...

Saw a player issue dean cox state heritage jumper @ WCE vs stkilda a few weeks back. Signed by woosh and full length Judd signature and also dated.

To expensive to be ruined. Never watched a bloke eat his food, and hang on every bite going " don't drop it on that jumper"

RAGE! First Bock, now Davis? Thank god we have Talia and L. Thompson, but we've been MAJORLY screwed over by these poaching rules. I can understand Bock's move, but Davis's? He was part of our spine for years to come! He didn't need the money yet, he had a career for himself in Adelaide! GWS have just become my most hated club.

Yeah he didn't 'need' the money but he probably got offered a 2 or 3 year longer contract a few hundred thousand dollars more than what he was on already. Why not take it? Afterall, it is his career and he needs to set himself up for future after footy. GWS have more chance of winning a flag in his career than anyone else except for GC too

Hey guys, for those of you who don't know about it, I've recently been getting into a 'manager' style game called Premiership Coach (http://premiership-coach.info/). Its awesome and I think on sale everywhere at EB at the moment. Highly reccommend for everyone here to get it and support the small company who develops it :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

Its an absolute gem which I don't think too many people know about and a massive improvement on last seasons

Really feel for you guys. Davis is going to be a great in a few years and you guys will get nowhere near the worthy compnsation.

But good on him for coming out now and saying it rather than leaving it until the end of the year like all the other blokes.

Future GC and GWS scares the f.uck out of me.

That is, if they draft like Geelong, rather than Melbourne.

How long do you all think it'll be before a GWS - GCS grandy?

GC and GWS will definitely come up and kick some butt in a few years, but it won't last much longer than current dynasties (usually 3-4 years), because all of their premiership players will want more money, and a lot will have to go elsewhere to get it. And don't forget a lot of these guys are ones who left their club to get some more dosh, so they're less likely to stay loyal for a paycut. So I'm not that concerned tbh.

Though maybe I'm saying that as a fan of a team who's currently doing well and less in need of early draft picks. I'd probably change my mind if I followed Port or the Bulldogs, for example.

Don't hate the new teams, if you want to direct it at someone, do it at the players themselves. What else are the new teams supposed to do?

Awesome! Cheers for the tip, I spent many an hour playing Championship Manager, and a footy version of that is even better!

I don't mind the GC, the Bock situation was different to Davis. Bock is closer to the end of his career then the start, and his position was under threat. And the GC recruiting tactics (so far at least) are better in the way that the players they poached are old enough to guide and mentor in the way the AFL intended the rule.

GWS, on the other hand, have signed as mentioned a young, high draft pick that we intended to be our CHB for the next 10 years. They're going to cop some Melbourne style beatings next year if they recruit like this, but jees, in 5 years they will destroy the league if they can keep players. Plus Sheedy is an arrogant, unlikeable twat. Guy McKenna is a far more likeable coach.

I don't see a problem with them picking Davis, as opposed to GC picking Bock. They're both players, their age and future captaincy attributes shouldn't be a factor.

Yeah its one of the best games around, probably better than AFL Live if you've played that too. Can't stand soccer so I've never played Championship Manager to compare it with. Considering this is only the second version (and still quite buggy in parts) you may be slightly disappointed but I can guarantee you its an absolute cracker :thumbsu: If you are gonna get it in stores, the only place it is sold at is EB, so don't go round looking everywhere for it. If you do get it, don't spend too much time matchday coaching if you don't like or get the hang of it first. Its too time-consuming and at this stage pretty hard to create a consistent gameplan and make effective changes

What I'm referring to is that the AFL introduced the poaching rules for the new clubs to get mature bodies to protect and guide the younger players. Davis is not exactly a mature player able to protect and guide younger bodies. But hey, maybe I'm just bitter because of losing two CHB's to the new clubs in two years.

Ah well, I can't complain about the rule too much yet. We lost an overrated hack with no motivation who got dropped by the Gold Coast. Probably shouldn't have traded our compo back to them but its not like we lost anyone of value or with true potential ;)

Clash jumper has been available in the store for a couple of months now, it is very nice though. My favourite current Pies jumper though right now is our away jumper with the CGU logo on the front, it just looks like it fits.

bit off topic but ohwell.
i went to the national sports muesum today.

this jumper was in there. it was the prototype jumper from 1996 when fitzroy n footscray were gunna merge until it fell through , bit odd they made a prototype though
