I can't agree with Morrison when he suggests problems like indigenous suicide rates can or should be solved by increased rates of prayer

Equally as odd is the media covering a man's attendance at his church - of course Morrison may have tipped off media to be there to continue appealing to a religious part of his voting base

Just not great all around to be honest

Our drift towards a gado-gado of religion and politics.

You really don’t get Christians do you?

Plus, he didn’t actually say anything of the sort. He’s just praying for lower suicide rates, not claiming it will solve the problem.

Maybe instead of praying he could tax Hillsong some of the quoted $100 million and chuck it into youth suicide prevention programmes.

You’ll get no arguments from me, tax the Catholics too.

The defence on NSW last play was pathetic by Queensland.
Reserves standard.
Think Shane Kersten/Patrenko
The media will lap this up but I couldn’t care less about those backwards northern states

I wonder how many people outraged by Folau voted for Morrison? Wouldn’t that be ironic.

There wouldn’t be enough stats, via the postal vote and election votes, to prove your argument either way.

Really? You don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to work out his position on it.

We aren’t talking about Morrison, we are talking about people who voted for him.

Morrison isn’t going to magically repeal gay marriage because of his views and he isn’t going to allow religious groups to go nuts with homophobia via religious freedom laws. They are primarily work based anti-discrimination laws from what I read and the bulk of the alp supports it.

Yet:
While abstaining could be interpreted as fence-sitting on a controversial issue, many MPs have explained they chose to forgo their votes to try and accommodate both their personal views on same-sex marriage and the clear majority "yes" vote in the postal survey.

You don’t think there’d be a couple of people having a sook about a rugby player that voted for someone to lead our country that holds the same beliefs? I’ll bet there is.
There always is some cross-correlation.

I voted for the liberals and voted yes on the postal vote, why, because I know Morrison can largely separate his personal beliefs from his politics. Look at Pence, a noted homophobe, yet, the Trump administration has come out in pushing gay rights globally. Even the article you posted was not definitive on his stance.

There is a broad spectrum, in Christianity, from voting no on gay marriage to wanting people to burn in hell. There also plenty of other Christians who voted in favour of gay marriage. Folau represents the extreme viewpoint in this instance.

Plenty voted for the greens, despite some of the extreme viewpoints of its politicians.

How do you know Morrison isn’t swayed by his religion?
