Constantly contradicts himself. Uses wikipedia links as his main form of fact checking.

The scary part is there is a tonne of sarcasm and hyperbole embedded in it that the dumber people in the society will latch on to to push their own agendas.

Yes, its kind of contradictory for me to say, but people not trained to analyse this stuff should not read it.

It is a significant problem that we face when 'leaders' in our community can publicy flout un-nuanced opinion on issues such as this and the worst that happens is a twitter war erupts between people who have no desire to come to a mutual understanding on how to solve problems that arise from an increasingly intermingled world.

I am disgusted by those such as Senator Anning who are using this to score political points amongst their constituents.

As potentially mordbid or disgusting as it might sound, I don't think he was a 'nutter' per se; I certainly don't think he was 'crazy' and can be written off as some loon.

As to his beliefs, everyone's beliefs systems have a worrying amount of internal contradictions, and a lot of the more odd/weird (as opposed to scary) things that he said were because he was ballsdeep in the worst of chan-culture.

I've said this before after school shootings, but media pundits need to take a REALLY hard look at how they report this. This is a guy that quite plainly stated he wants to make the current ideological divides worsen, freedoms to be further infringed, and for the general situation (as he saw it) to get worse; all to create more people like himself who feel called to take action, in order to actualise societal change. People always say 'This is a wakeup call!' to momentous and horrendous events such as this. I seriously hope this one actually is.

As for Anning's absolute shit smear of press release, he can go and get ****ed. I've honestly never paid him more than a fleeting moment of attention because his political existence is such a bizarre and nearly unrepeatable irregularity. I can generally handle people holding beliefs even if I don't subscribe to them, but that statement is a piece of work and he deserves to be censured for it. I keep being drawn back to that 'However'. Excusing ideological violence is one of the few things that makes me go from 0 to 100 in a heartbeat.

What an embarrassment of a human being he is.

Spoke to my sister today and her hubby heard the shots from his work, saw the Facebook feed but luckily didn't watch it. City in lockdown and had an hour detour home from their place that's 15 minutes away. This to a city still recovering from the earthquake.
