55 years in prison for 3 women who protested mandatory hijab

The Revolutionary Court of Tehran sentenced civil rights activists and Mozhgan Keshavarz, Yasaman Ariani, and her mother Monireh Arabshahi, to 55 years in prison combined. The three are currently held in Varamin Prison.

According to HRANA, the Human Rights Activists News Agency, the three were tried and sentenced by Judge Moghiseh on the charges of “conspiracy and assembly to act against national security, propaganda against the regime, and facilitating corruption and depravity”. Their sentences were delivered without the presence of their attorney. On March 8th, the International Women’s Day, the three civil activists offered flowers and pastry to passengers in Tehran’s subway. The video of this event went viral on social media which caused an uproar in state media.

Amir Raeesian, the defense attorney for Yasamin Ariani and Monireh Arabshahi announced that “at no point during the process, neither during the interrogation nor even trial sessions were the defense attorneys allowed to attend.” Mozhgan Keshavarz’s attorney, Mohammad Moghimi also reported that he was not allowed to participate in any stage of the process.Moghimi announced that aside from the three aforementioned charges, Ms. Keshavarz has also been sentenced to seven years and six months in prison on the charge of “blasphemy”.

In recent months the crackdown on “improper hijab” has intensified due to the requests from the Friday-Prayer Imams across the country.

That’s what a totalitarian society looks like.

That’s what a totalitarian society looks like.

Actually, the Iranians have a fairly robust democracy.

Saudi Arabia - that's what you're looking for.

He was under 24/7 suicide watch with guards and cctv and managed to kill himself. I have a feeling there’s no footage.
Incorrect. He was taken off suicide watch on the 29/7...why is beyond me. Also, why he wasn't placed back on there after yesterday also bemuses me. Apparently, 2 guards check in every 30 mins. Last night they didn't. Oh well, all swept under the rug then. A lot of people will sleep soundly.

Chalk it up to another "conspiracy theory" that Alex Jones got right. 10 years ago he brought up Epstein and highlighted that Epstein was used as an informant that would use this pedo stuff against big wigs - big sex cult that also involved branding women. He also highlighted Harvey Weinstein 2 years prior. Unsurprisingly Huffington Post came down on Alex Jones on both occasions. Another example of MSM painting a narrative and protecting those in higher places. The world becomes a better place when these media corporations are held accountable and being complicit in all of this.

"Among other things, the Epstein case forces us to ask ourselves some uncomfortable questions about the real meaning of “fake” news. There is, or should be, more to being informed than fact-checking formalism. If you have spent the last few years earnestly consuming mainstream left-of-center media in this country you will be under the impression that the United States has fallen under the control of a spray-tanned Mussolini clone who is never more than five minutes away from making birth control illegal. If you watch Fox News and read conservative publications, you no doubt bemoan the fact that Ronald Reagan’s heir is being hamstrung by a bunch of avocado toast-eating feminist witches. Meanwhile, Alex Jones’s audience will tell you that America, like the rest of the world, is ruled by a depraved internationalist elite whose ultimate allegiance is not to countries or political parties or ideologies but to one another. These people believe in nothing. They will safeguard their wealth and privilege at any cost. They will never break rank. And they will commit unspeakable crimes with impunity, while anyone who dares to speculate openly is sued or hounded out of public life as a kook.

Which of these worldviews is closest to the truth?"

Of course, the MSM doesn't want to give credit where credit is due. Instead, they've doubled down and said "you're bound to get one right sooner or later" :drunk:
