Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, and now GoW Ragnarok… why are all the big blockbuster PlayStation games this year fantasy titles?
I have a pretty big prejudice against the whole fantasy genre. It’s filled with lazy get-out-of-jail free cards for its writers. For every obstacle that needs to be overcome, the protagonist amazingly has a magical power capable of doing just that. The whole genre feels like a con.


(Yes I’m shouting into the digital ether in an attempt to convince myself that everything every critic seems to be saying about how GoW Ragnarock is amazing and groundbreaking is wrong and won’t justify the cost)

I was listening to Sammy the Bull on a podcast a while back and something he said has stuck with me. I’m wondering if this is common knowledge because it was news to me.

He was asked if the mob had anything to do with killing JFK and he said that he didn’t know anything about that, BUT, he says I’ll give you this.

JFK and Sam Giancana shared a few girls, one of them being Marilyn Monroe. He said they were getting pretty uncomfortable with how she was starting to behave because she knew a few things that would embarrass them. Then when she sang happy birthday to JFK they decided it was the last straw and killed her.

Is that well known?

I wonder what Sammy thinks of the rumour that the mob weren't involved in killing JFK but had the clean up contracts and killed everyone in the teams that organised and carried out the hit on him.

He goes into it a bit. I couldn’t be bothered getting into the weeds of the JFK killing, but his exact answer was, “Theres an old Sicilian saying, you cut a fishes head off and the body dies”. He then went onto talk about how everyone hated Bobby Kennedy because after their dad used the mob to get John elected, Bobby was angry, he had a point to prove so he went after everyone. After that the mob hated him, Hoffer hated him and Hoover hated him. Pretty powerful enemies.

Sammy was just an up and coming gangster when the mob was told to help get JFK elected, he wasn’t made yet but once he was he was told what went on by Toto.
