Ok, so had a Vietnamese roast pork roll for lunch. My goodness they are good, possibly my favourite sandwich/roll out there. Substantial but refreshing all at once.

Occupation is a nasty thing but at least some good came from the French occupation of Vietnam, that being their legacy of baking (arguably) the best bread in the world.

Ever been to Vietnam itself?

There are a few bakeries in the French Quarter of Hanoi in particular. Let's just say that they made me happy.

I did a cooking class on a Vietnamese farm near Hoi An. The pork and prawn springs rolls were unbelievably good.

Nope, haven't been to Vietnam. On the bucket list once the kids are older, mortgage is reduced enough etc.

This can probably help you if you're struggling - http://www.wikihow.com/Shave
Oh I mean I'm not sure how people can be clean shaven and enjoy it, obviously it's a requirement for some people with work but I can't stand it. Looking like a 15 yr old isn't terrific.

Haha I knew what you meant, I was taking your comment in a strictly literal way.

I shave every second day.

Not because the rate of my stubble growth doesn't warrant shaving every day if I want to look smooth (it well and truly does), but simply because I can't be arsed doing it every day.

Given I have no direct contact with clients (well rarely) and have no boss on site I tend to shave on a Sunday night, then if I have things on during the week or on the weekend I shave before that, otherwise it tends to be a week before shaves.

Once upon a time it was every 2 days, if I get a new job it will likely become daily or every 2nd day. Until then I prefer to progressively look like a feral bastard from Sunday to Sunday.

I shave on Monday mornings and thats it. By Saturday or Sunday I have a healthy level of stubble then I have to get rid of it again on Monday :( I could/should shave more often, but can't be arsed either. My job is mostly on the phone so I rarely see clients face to face, and if I do it looks more designer stubble than a filthy beard anyway as it's only one week.

My issue with growing a beard/goatee/moustache is that I was once blonde. Now I am light brown with some grey starting to poke through. This means my facial hair tends to be a mish mash of blonde, brown and grey with a healthy dose of ginger thrown in.

To quote a rabid old bitch, it ith jutht not a good look.

Going a week between shaves I can get away with it, any longer and it starts to become noticable.

The thing I've found more annoying than a change in facial hair colouring is freakin' body hair. I look back to being 18 years old and there was a bit on my chest and that was it. It appears that as hair thins out on top it doesn't fall out, it just relocates to the chest and back (god I hate back hair, I go metro during the warm months and get the bastard waxed)

I have an almost perfectly circular bald spot under my chin, curiously enough.

I'll be wildebeesting it out everywhere else, but this one little spot just steadfastly refuses to sprout.

im hirsute as they come, beard in a week style.

I havent actually shaved bare for years, i just clip it once a week on a zero then start again.
I find if you never set the standard of a clean shaven face nobody expects it from you, so at work when i clip to zero it looks like ive made a huge effort and it passes.

If you start at a new job baby smooth then come in one day with a 2 day growth everyone looks at you like you have been on a bender and fell off the wagon. Yet i can come in with a 3 day growth and im still normal. I like this!

plus the transition from stubble to small beard is only a few days so i dont get that inbetween unkept faze, suppose thats a bonus.
