If you’re doing a 2010-2019 team, Masten probably makes it. The midfield is just the current midfield plus Priddis.

Masten’s decade > Sheed’s for output, but does the GF goal get him in? Scott Selwood was terrific but left midway, does he get a guernsey? Kerr stopped too early in the decade to get in you’d say.

I think Masten either makes the bench or is the first mid to miss out.

Have we done a team of the decade thread? Is it worth it, or will it just revolve into a Priddis/Masten shitfight?
The second one

It’s an old song, older than most of you tbh, but legitimately interested in your thoughts.

Props to anyone who knew this song even existed

I've been around since Methuselah was a young tacker but that song passed me by. Was that 80s?
The 80s as a musical era was pretty much dead to me with a couple of honourable exceptions.

Wasn’t thinking of Masto then but making up the team there’s some ok to average players that make it up.
Smalls till recently were average and Josh Hill comes into the equation

masto as a wingmen
Scooter or Hutch for the wing? One is a club champ.

Ross Glendinning Medal or not.......no, he doesn't.

Who else then?

our small forward stocks between 2010-2019 were pretty dismal. Josh Hill was quite good for his first few seasons as well.
Kennedy, Darling, LeCras, Cripps are locks. Do you throw another mid (Sheed?) on the HFF? Hill for longevity? Has Ryan done enough yet?

Mitch Brown in the forward pocket?

Hill has to be in surely over Ryan.

You can complain all you like over his inconsistent form but Ryan and Rioli have barely played this decade and the rest have zero claims to a spot aside from LeCras and Cripps.

Might just make a thread when I get home. I made a quick one during my break but need to revise it.

Josh Hill played 107 games and kicked 151 goals for us. He may have been maligned but that’s a reasonable return for a small forward, especially considering who he shared that forward line with.

Forward line is probably JK, JD, Cripps, LeCras, Hill and Ryan

I have Kerr and waters in but have they played enough top level footy in that period. Waters has more of stake as he was AA in 2012.

Kerr played 54 games in the decade. His prior resume elevates him in a way, but if we're purely talking output between 2010-2019, I'd have Sheed in over Kerr.

102 games to 54
21.2 disposals to 22.8
47 goals to 25
17 brownlow votes to 15

You make a strong case but to me Sheed only has had one great year and that was last year. His 2015 good for a kid as well but has had some very average seasons in between. Based on Brownlow votes you could argue Kerr has had a similar impact in half as much games.
That said you could have both in.

Ryan can't be in after only 2 seasons

He would get in. Kicked at 1.5 goals a game. Not elite but reasonable for a small forward.
More Joe the Gooses than Josh Jenkins. If we are going on up to and including 2019 then Le Cras, Rioli, Cripps and Ryan are ahead of Hill. Goals are not everything it's what else you can do as a small forward and each of these four offer a lot more around the ground than Hill.

Unless you’re picking a midfielder there’s not much else to chose from.

Hams, Partington, Mutimer, Brown? Unless I’m missing someone

I guess you don’t have to rigidly stick to the formula, picking a mid seems likely.

JK, JD, Cripps, LeCras, plus a mid, plus maybe a second ruck as a forward?

Does Coxy get in? Two AA’s, second in the JW Medal in 2012. 110 games, 79 goals. 16.3 disposals, 25.8 hitouts per.

I’d lock Cox in with NN. Harsh on Slyce but it was only his last season where he really became a quality ruckman I feel.

I wish the existence of a local product who rose from the rookie list to play 240 games and win the Brownlow, All Australian, John Worsfold and Ross Glendinning for his boyhood club wasn’t the most divisive topic on this board, because there’s a really good thread in here otherwise.

Maybe enough time has passed.

Wishful thinking?

Except for the absolute relentless few, the discussion around Priddis was more to do with what is our ceiling with him in, right? Rather than “he is an objective bad footballer”.

We’ve moved away from that era, we’ve had success since to ease people’s general tension about the club (for the most part).

Surely in the context of “who were our best 22 players from this 10 year period” very few could argue him getting an inclusion, even if it’s just on the pine.

I say we make the thread and then if it does turn into Priddis thread v.2 then all it means is that you now have to deal with it as a mod instead of a chuckling bystander.

Will Schofield is another that has merit of being there. You’d have Glassy as a lock for his 2AA and JW medals.

EMac is a lock as well.

my 7Th defender optionS were schoey, Butler and Jetta.

I have Waters in but you could argue that he didn’t play enough games in that period.

recency bias has me leaning Jetta for the 7th defender role.
