Remember what happened with lovett?

Remember what happened with Weller?

And don't forget, Lovett was acquitted if i remember correctly.

"In December 2009 Lovett was suspended indefinitely by the St Kilda Football Club following allegations of being involved in a sexual assault[2][9] and on 16 February 2010 he was dismissed from the club when rape charges were laid.[3] On 25 July 2011, Lovett was acquitted of the charges.[10]"

It was a disaster for us as a club, but perhaps not totally fair to blame it all on Lovett

Lovett was a knob, and his actions, whether proof was available or not, were enough that the other players didn't want to go near him.

Yes. got arrested twice In the pre season just after he got there if I remember correctly. Considering he was on his last chance after being a kock at Essendon its fair to say he wasted his last chance.
It was a risk we took which didnt work.[/QUOTE]

But James Hird wrote a letter saying he had reanimated dead puppies with one touch of his glowing index finger and Sheedy said he was only constantly bleary eyed from crying over the plight of third world orphans. We were like some bunch of idiots when it came to that trade.

And recall that we overpaid anyway. That's not just my opinion. Lyon said so at the time. But he wanted the speed and was happy in the context of getting Walsh for free. Just yuck!

It still baffles me today why we decided to take him on. It seemed everyone knew he was on a path to self-destruction except the recruiters at St Kilda.
Remember the punch-up he had with Roo? It was a mind-boggling decision.
i don't recall the punch up?!

That's a good start. One of the club's most revered figures.

Also turned up for preseason without doing ANY of the work he should have.

It was an on-field punch up. I can't recall if it occurred during the season we recruited him or the one before. Perhaps someone on here can recall it.
But yeah, a real baffling recruiting decision.

To think we gave up our first round draft pick for that trade :mad:

Season before, I think a few Saints gave him a bit of lip about being a woman basher

No good blaming Essendon, Our club should of done their home work better, was reported a few of our senior players ( Roo - joey and Lenny ) told the club they didn't want or need him there

State Opposition Leader Matthew Guy is a mad Saints supporter. His son is in Auskick with my son...a change of Govt could see us reap a bonanza of benefits!!

 Oct 2018 is next state election, however.

His only redeeming factor sadly, his life as a politican is screaming "man without a clue" given his tenure as planning minster.

Because yesterday was crazy, here's the first for this year.

-Long time reader Canadian Saint joins the forum with a terrific first post. Page 829
-Parish or Mathieson? Parish or Mathieson?! Shades of Petracca vs Draft picks last year. Agreement from all that Trout will pick the best player
-StSignifcant also joins, a great first post on p829.
-Discussion on Bailey Rice. Reminders that Sam McClure and BS have said we are in front in the race to secure his services.
-Delusion from opposition supporters as they believe they can grab our first pick in a straight swap for Carlisle - more accurate beliefs from this board that they've stolen Hirds stash.
-Jay Clark writes a piece in the Hun about Essendon asking for Billings in a Carlisle trade. Seems Dons fans aren't the only ones with access to James' stash.
-Thread stops to laugh at Essendon, not only for their awful list, their board's multiple stuff ups, their off field dramas, their coaching saga or their multiple 100+ point losses, but this time for their idiotic trade demands.
-Belief that because the usual crazy Essendon trade offer linked Carlisle with St Kilda, and not Carlton, we are ahead
-Reliable posters confirm that belief, suggesting we're well ahead in attracting Carlisle's services
-Rumours that 2 Swans have some off-field going ons... So that's the Bloods culture they go on about
-Thread stops to fawn over Josh Kelly once again
-The Footy Show reports Cam McCarthy Requested a trade back to WA.
-Every man and his dog at GWS slam Barrett, say that McCarthy is happy at GWS, the final slam to 'Purple' being Toby Greene posting an Instagram photo, saying 'F off purple'. Greene takes over as the AFL's most popular player.

you guys really must not have much to do with your time. :D

Awesome summary!

Could have saved us all a lot of time trying to keep up.

Expect we'll hear more about....
