I can't start a new topic yet so excuse me . Who do we think will be the new captain next season ? Riewoldts shoes are big ones to fill. Geary, Armo, Weller, Steven, hard choice. I don't have any idea really.

To me Pierce seems a bit slow , not mentally, lol, but he does actually cover the ground quite well. Young ruckmen take a long time to develop. You spend many years on one never knowing if he is going to make it . We've had a few of those over the years. I know it caused a stir at the time but I was happy they traded McEnvoy because I was sure that was as good as he was going to get and probably for the first time in my life I was right, lol.

Exactly.
He was taken in the same draft as Murdoch, but HAS been able to show some improvement.
Must be frustrating for the clubs though.
Lewis will be in his fifth season next year. So say he starts to get some games, then has a breakout season in 2018.
We then get a handful of seasons before the free agency stuff hits .

Pretty sad read I reckon.

Either what he's saying is true and the club has failed a troubled kid terribly, or it isn't exactly what happened and the kid needs serious help.

Hard from the outside to tell how much is him or the club. There are always two sides but nett result he needs help urgently. Sounds like a possible tragedy in waiting without action.

Except perhaps as collateral damage.

This is to do with the football staff: non playing.

But I've found no media mention, cannot recall any media coverage and so cannot independently verify either the story or the individuals concerned.

About the only relevant coverage I do recall is some generalities in a recent article by Caroline Wilson about another Collingwood matter.

The story is from a trusted source and quite specific about a particular individual, an individual who was a member of the non playing football staff.

I absolutely trust my source and the circumstances in which the story was told to me.

So I absolutely believe the story.

But now I find myself in a position where I need to respect his confidence in my confidentiality.

Should have thought of that before my original post, sorry.

So I'm going to have to shut this down.

However to give you some measure of the tale: let's just say that senior members of the Collingwood hierarchy are not reading from the same page.

Looking at the way the odds swung around.
Should have got on Trump this morning at 5.00
The way they jumped everytime a state was won, i reckon even if Hillary was going to win it she would have gone out to $2.00 after the Texas etc results. ( as it turned out they then went much higher.
So hedging the bet would have been easy.
