Co-champions in the spelling bee! Absolutely freaky performance. Both champions only got one word wrong each in championship round.

Given it's live coverage (so it starts at midnight), I don't think the ratings will be spectacular, however Seven only got the rights a couple of months ago (previously Setanta Sports had the rights, hence why the game was largely blacked out in Australia bar the International Rules) so I think they'll let it run for some time.

You'd think they would put a replay of the game on just before the AFL game to start building a viewership. If it was in about 1:00 PM, I would check it out but not even contemplating watching it at midnight.

Saying that - I could just tape it. There is that option.

Both. Last weekend was hurling Sunday morning (Sky Sports feed) and football/hurling Monday morning (RTE feed - I now have the catchy The Sunday Game theme stuck in my head again lol).

Looks like it's a matter of what the host broadcaster decides to air that week as RTE showed two football matches last week.

The 2nd match on Monday morning was last year's All-Ireland Hurling rematch between Clare and Cork (the All-Ireland Final went to a replay, and the replay was epic)

Interesting that channel 7 have signed a 5 year NFL contract as well.

I'm thinking most of the Sunday afternoon games (Monday morning in Aust) will be on 7 mate. Especially if they are allowed to show Monday Night Football.

Should be good over the summer months.

More of a vent but it really frustrates me seeing just how many different ways people choose to spell Mackay's last name. He's a 100+ game player for the Crows and people still don't know how to spell his name (along with the capital K some choose to give him for no reason).
