Food - entrees, mains, meats, desserts and sweets, appetisers and vegetarian - Italy has more foods that have crossed over into the mainstream cooking worldwide as well as those which are still unheard of enough to appeal to those wanting to try new things.

Ancient Rome > anything in French history.

Leonardo Da Vinci, a contender for the most intelligent human being to ever grace the planet, trumps Napolean. Michelangelo decides to bury Nap's grave. Christopher Colombus can be heard laughing in the background.

Cars and bikes? Italy, hands down.

Sporting success on a worldwide scale? Italy wins yet again.

Fashion? When it comes to the brands that make you sexy and thus acquire poon, you'd head for an Italian label over a French one every day of the week.

Women you say?

Great mix of hot chicks and classy ladies.

Scenery?

Dunno if you can claim Columbus as a plus for Italy PK, considering he did most of his work for Spain as far as I can tell. They even have a huge statue of him in Barca. Would be like the Windies trying to claim credit for Andrew Symonds' cricket career.

France all the way for me, Paris is a truly great city. I could happily spend months exploring that place alone before I even take into account the rest of the country.

Some places you travel to seem disappointing compared to the build up you've heard but Paris is one city that really lives up to its reputation. Absolutely magical place.
