Thought I would rate our list from a D to A+

I rated our list based on the now, obviously the rating of a lot of the kids will go up with experience. You would hope anyway

Player rating doesn't matter to much it's more to do with how you play as a team but a lot of people overrate our list when you look at our list individualy .

I think that is a fair assessment. I would have White C- though

I'm not one to go to panic stations over a NAB game... But I agree with most of your ratings. Before we can seriously challenge for a flag again, we need Scharenberg, Freeman, Maynard, Broomhead, Kennedy, De Goey and Moore to take the spots of guys like Blair, Goldsack, White, Toovey, Thomas, Sinclair, Dwyer etc. We really do have a lot of players that just aren't good enough. With that said, we do have the foundation for a good side... We just need to develop it.

I agree with hellfire. The major problem with that strategy is by the time they develop our current stars / potential matchwinners Pendles /Swan /Clokey will be over the hill or retired. As much as people bag clokey he is our most important player and he will be 30 in 2 years time and past his best as most big kpf tend to fall away quickly. Pendles will be 30 and past his peak also and Swanny retired. We dont even know whether these kids can get close to the standards of these 3, and even if they do we dont have any kpf who look capable of taking over from cloke.
Want to resist doing it but beams heater wham harry and c dawes still on list wouldnt have as many concerns and we would still be competing for top 6 at a minimum. The more I write the more I realise we have blown up the structure of the playing list in the last 3 years

I don't think we've gone hard at all to get players from other clubs in the past few seasons, thus we have been left with what really are the leftovers (Lynch, White, Varcoe etc).

Eventually we will shift to where we target big name players but the obvious problem is those big name players won't come to you unless you are a chance of contending for a flag.

As for rating our list, too early to do so, easier to do post season.

I think rating our list is a waste of time honestly. Our list is plagued by youth and subsequently inconsistency so watching a guy like Adams one day putting in a D type game to turning it around the next week and punching an A game is frustrating and makes this exercise pointless.

Our list is young and needs games in them as a team and I'd like us this season to work out just who is prepared to do the hard yards and try and get a solid core group of players to string games together and recruit and trade the next couple of seasons to fill voids.

We all need to understand where our list is at this year. We are rebuilding and we are going to struggle at times but we will play good football along the way when things click. If it suits you to represent this with C's, D's and E's than fine but this is the time to identify who will be part of our premiership contending squad probably in 3 to 4 years time.

It's more interesting doing one now then post season to see who improves and who doesn't

It seems like our trading periods apart from the draft as I like de goey. We have lost our balls we need to stand up show why we are a massive club get some C**t about us because at the moment we are trading like a piss weak bush league club.
I know I shouldnt bring up last years cluster f**k with beams but that showed exactly my point

Heres a simple look at the list. We only have 6 quality (doesn't have to be elite but very good) players (on performance not potential). Pendles, Swan, Reid, Elliot, Sidebottom, Cloke. ONLY 6! even from those 6 two are not in good form and one never plays anymore.

Buckley hasn't been able to develop players since he and his entourage started . Compared to Hawthorn or our 2011 side we totally lack A+ to B players that can play together. Not enough of the current team can break into those sides on form .Too many players getting game time who haven't improved and not enough youngsters coming through together getting minutes consistently .

Pretty good rankings there I would already have Langdon as a B though.

Pretty disappointed when you think back a few years our overall grade average has taken a hit.

Agree. Although at times he does get a bit lazy with his technique. Could be fatigue and I am sure it is something he will fix, but you do generally feel confident when he has the ball

Cant believe people still rate Sidebottom as A grade. Hasnt improved since he was 19yo. Still runs around unaccountable and rarely makes any impact on the results. C grade for me

It kind of feels like they tried to copy Sydney by taking average players and giving them a role and expecting the same results. OBviously we aren't as good at picking this type of player as them.

Agree - We just seems to Settled to get other Teams Rejects and Not go after other Teams Stars.
