well, now that the list has been finalised and i am bored at work i am going to rate each player on our list, this will take into account both ability/skill/inspiration of course a lot of assumptions will be made. firstly i am not going to just go on last years evidence i will take into account his record over seasons, so jeffrey will not get dropped to player 30 just because he couldnt stop drinking/eye gouging/punching last year, secondly i will not include players that have not played an afl match before. meaning that palmer and co will be excluded, but let me just say that i think palmer will end up being in our top two best players, secondly i am going to include players that are now with us but havent played for us. bradley and johnson. i will also not go by best and fairest placings, as this is my opinion not the clubs.

now for the fun part, once you have read my list from best to not as good, you can argue and send abusive messages to me all you want, but this is just my opinion

It was tough, basically anyone from 19 to 35 will have a chance this year to earn their stripes but at this stage they are all fighting for a spot. Hasebly may be a good Brownlow bet but he has not performed consistent for some time now. Gilmore is excellent to have on your list coz he is versatile and you know what to expect. I think Browne has everything we need, apart from the injury thing!
Anyway, even though it is a task which can never have much credibility to it, I was bored enough to give it a crack.

as i live in mandurah, i have met brock a couple of times and to be honest it wouldnt worry me if he didnt rate me. make of that what you will

I will have a go at this as well:

1) M.Pavlich (Obvious choice)
2) P.Bell (Still our best mid)
3) A.Sandilands (Played most of 07 injured, dominated our streak in 06)
4) J.Carr (Gives us the grunt in the mid)
5) A.Grover (If he goes down our backline is shot)
6) L.McPharlin (See Grover)
7) P.Haselby (When fit is potential AA)
8) J.Farmer (Electric and gives as many goals as he gets)
9) R.Hayden (His run is vital)
10) Mi. Johnson (Disposal is fantastic)
11) C.Tarrant (Allows Pav to be free)
12) D.Headland (Is a class player)
13) S.Dodd (Shuts down vital players)
14) H.Black (Great left boot)
15) D.Solomon (His hardness is vital for the team)
16) R.Warnock (Backup to Sandi, will be a star)
17) B.Schammer (Missed his midfield run)
18) B.Peake (See Schammer)
19) D.Mundy (Has great evasive skills, just needs to be harder)
20) R.Crowley (Gets under the skin of opposition and kicks goals)
21) D.Gilmore (Showed in 07 that he can get the clearances)
22) S.Thornton (Seems to play well even when I think he hasnt)
23) M.Drum (In time will be a regular 22)
24) A.Foster (Great young mid for the future)
25) A.Campbell (Crashes the packs and looks hungry)
26) R.Murphy (Could be very good, question mark over heart)
27) Mark.Johnson (Will be a very handy depth player)
28) M.Carr (See Mark Johnson)
29) B.O'Brien (Played 1 match but showed great hardness)
30) G.Ibbotson (Has pace to burn)
31) A.Browne (Needs to get fit, cant see it happening)
32) L.Webster (Lucky to be on the list, can play if need be)
33) K.Bradley (Has all the numbers of a great player, lets see if it happens)
34) P.Duffield (Dont rate him at all)
35) S.McManus (No problem that he is on the list but cant see him getting a game in 08)

So yeah thats my list, the obvious one people will disagree with is Sandi so far up but he will show all in 08.

i hope he does show us all, if he could learn how to mark, he would be the most dominant player in the league because his kicking for a big guy is quite good. i guess his marking or lack there of is what is holding him back in my team, and is also the reason why he is so frustrating

FootyEater: Great job on your list, the only two I really disagree with is having Sandi and Campbell so low.

thanks, yeah maybe i am a bit harsh on sandi, he is one of those players that really frustrates me, i want to love him but untill he starts marking the pill he will continue to be a source of frustration, in hindsight i think i should of had him ahead of warnock....... but only just.

and kiwi, well i know he goes hard, and has a good accurate long kick, but he just doesnt do anything for me, and i see him as being a weak link, especially since we have more forwards than any other team. but they signed him for another two years earlier this year so maybe im missing something, wouldnt be the first time, there was a time when i was asking everyone why the bloody hell were the dockers taking solomon nad he turned out to be great for us.
