Not enough love for Ratts on this board sometimes. .. In hindsight an obvious manoeuvre but Setant was only just back from injury with one good game in the VFL. ..

Irish kept his feet well in the wet and really gave us a target especially in the wet. .. Then he didn't let us down in the ruck with some brilliant follow ups even when he lost the tap. .. Conditions weren't exactly condusive to anything in that centre square. . .brilliant effort. ..

Honourable mention has to go to the rain drying up and helping the better team win in the end but Ratten, much maligned, has to get some of the kudos tonight. ..

Great Win :D

Well done to Ratts, great move. Irish is just all heart isn't he?

So clean and adept in the wet for a big man too, Ratts really knew what he was doing here

Setanta can be to us what Leigh Brown is to the Pies and more...

He's more athletic and is more desperate. Really can't split their skills (both average).

He can go forward and back at a pinch &...many say he's not a Ruck but what he gives is a good honest contest (more than held his own vs the big Mummy tonight) and that's all our super on ball brigade need.

Good chance to hold his spot even when Kruz and Hendo return provided he gives the same effort week in and week out.

Well done Setanta.

irish's efforts tonight were fantastic, if he wasn't getting it he was pressuring and harassing at all times. Was rapt in his game, Think hammer will find it very hard to get back into this side on the back of that game. Good to see him back;)

Judd was exceptional.......a true leader. He just leads by example so bloody well.

Well done to Ratts. We sit 3rd with only 1 loss after 6 rounds. :thumbsu:

Jamo....You have taken your game to the next level, so &**&^*( solid down back....i want the ball in your hands in the close ones.

Stoked with that win.......the Jimmies are going down well tonight.

Structure wise it was so much better watching Irish in the side, rather than Hampson. Neither are what you'd mark down as brilliant, but, Setanta, to his credit was good this evening.:thumbsu:

Gotta agree..Feel there is no coincidence in Waite Setant pressing as Betts as well as Garlett getting goals..It gives space to the 2 crumbers .

with all the shit he cops, blah blah blah, and tbh, Ive been guilty of that a bit (not on here). Fine. However, when that siren blew, in our favour for the first time in 18 years at the SCG, no other coach is fist pumping like Ratts

Ratts, tonight, I tip my navy blue hat

I have no doubt if we went with Hampson instead of Setanta, we would have lost tonight.

Not gonna bash Hampson..He will take time..How long has Josh k been in the system??He was fantastic last night but geez (bye gingo) its taken time..
But I do like the look of Setant in the team:)

Great decision by Ratts and the MC and it was exactly the result I thought he would give. He wasn't fantastic in the ruck but when it hit the deck he was like another midfielder. We won the clearances without winning the hit outs so we will stick with Irish next week.

Providing a much better contest at ground level and in the air.

Irish will be a key if he continues with this form, T see him playing a similar role to that of Leigh Brown at Collingwood.:thumbsu:

Setanta is:
- Good competator.
- presents well, gets in the right place and works well with other forwards.
- good set shot on goal.
- Handy part time ruck.
- Handy at ground level.

If only he had good hands! Our team is full of guys who are weak above their heads.

kudos to Ratten and the MC - got it right tonight. Yeah, it's easy to say that in light of a positive result but it was the right move. And the sub came at the right time too. Well done.

Gotta be careful not to bag Hammer too much, he wasn't playing well and this move was on the cards but took courage. .. Hoping Hammer can take it the right way and earn his spot back or at least continue to develop. ..

Have always wanted Irish in the team he gives us something, he reminds me of the Duke, in the first half he was one of the few keeping us in the game, love the way he goes about it.

Hope the MC don't drop him next week, he gives it 110% and he loves playing for the CFC.

Hampson is certainly a decent first ruck but as a 2nd ruck having to play forward with the "sub rule" he struggles big time. Setanta is better in that role even if he doesn't win the tap. The presence forward and around the ground is alot more important than a few taps that may or may not find the mark.

In a few weeks Hampson will unfortunately be behind Setanta and Kreuzer for that position.

And the goal Setanta kicked after the interchange free? If Hampson had the ball in his hands not sure the goal would have been kicked but Setanta had the poise when it counted to slot the goal. Love watching him play.

Setanta far better option than Hampson at the moment, can go forward and kick goals. Hampson is only good at taping the ball , setanta has more strings to bow!

Thank u ratts for bringing in Irish. I nearly put my foot through the wall when i saw hammer selected again. this is what we need going forward.

Setanta was great, held marks that Hammer would drop. He can have bad games, but I've no doubt he's much better in the side than Hammer butterfingers.

Maybe with Kreuze back in the side, Setanta can float around in a forward pocket making opposition defences panic.
