While he only nominated defender Paul Bower as certain to return, Ratten said match committee would choose from Chris Yarran, Kane Lucas, Shaun Hampson, Robert Warnock, Brock McLean, Lachie Henderson and Shaun Grigg in the reshuffle following last Friday night’s loss to North Melbourne.

"Bower will come back into the team, so that will allow (Bryce) Gibbs to go back into the middle and the rotations in our midfield get really strong."

Carrots was still good on friday night. Harvey hardly had any impact, aside from the first quarter

Carrotts to get the axe this week?

What the !!!
Would have thought Carrot's is in career best form. Has done some amazing jobs in the last month or so the highlight being his job on DelSanto. It is great to have a tagger who can get the ball himself. Would have thought there would be 10 names up to be dropped before they got to him.

Interesting that he nominated two ruckman amongst the possible inclusions. Could be an acknowledgement of their form for the ants or it could be an indication of intent to drop a ruckman. You would assume it won't be Kreuzer.

We have some good players playing in the lesser league. The axing of some players will do us some good as guys like Yarran,Henderson,Fisher,Lucas etc will mount a case why they should be in the 22.

And so he should. The boys have to learn that the crap they served up on Friday night is simply not good enough. If this means making some tough and unpopular selection decisions, then so be it.

Our team is far to good to be playing the way they did on Friday night. They have to give 110% EVERY week not just when we play the top sides.

Saying that I have no idea who they should leave out, but I think they have to give Hendo a game and I think McLean should also come back in.

Zaharakis should get the axe after his recent lean form, hardly living up to your claim about him being as good as Hill and Sidebottom :o

Your such a moron Sin City.

I merely compared the three and stated that I would take Hill over them all. Zaharakis sure has done more than a specific forward pocket has taken ahead of him. :o

Not that I watch Carlton matches very often, you will see in another thread that I atcually rate Carrazzo very highly. However many of your supporters were calling for his head. This would have been 6 or so weeks ago.

Why would you assume that?

Kreuzer has been very ordinary for multiple games in a row. A run in the twos might do him the world of good...

An interesting one. All ruckman have shown some form over the past 2-3 weeks.

Kreuzer - inconsistent at present but the most talented
Jacobs - solid, can go missing around the ground
Warnock - tall, something to prove to Freo
Hampson - once jumped over Sandilands in a preseason but didn't really recapture that when the real stuff was on. Most athletic ruckman.

Really, we could drop any of them with some justification to bring in either one of the others for team balance.

So choose two from the most talented, the tallest with a point to prove, the strongest, and the athlete with the huge leap and work out how they are going to limit Sandilands.

:D Nice one. Yarran is averaging more tackles, goals and rising star noms than Zaharakis. Still stings you doesn't it :thumbsu:

Wow man.

Zaharakis

Ranked 14th in total goal assists in the comp
Ranked 1 amongst rising stars total goals assists amongst rising stars

Ranked 3rd in goals contributed per game amongst rising stars
Ranked 4th in kicking, Marking amongst rising stars
Ranked 5th in Goals per game amongst rising stars
Ranked 7th in Inside 50s amongst rising stars
Ranked 9th in total disposals amongst rising stars
Leading Essendon's goalkicking

Yes taking him in the 20s is really stinging me. :thumbsu:

Doesn't change the fact that he's nowhere near as good as Yarran, Sidebottom or Hill no matter how much you want to over rate your players.

Please put Warnock in - I reckon he can give us more than Sauce, I don't think he's done badly but I think Robbie can give us more around the ground.

Can anyone tell me what happened to hampason?
Looked very promising last season but seems to have gone off the radar.

Remember him slotting one from outside 50 on the boundary. :thumbsu:

Yeah he had a pretty crook hammy injury right at the end of pre-season, it's played up a couple of times since. He's been back in the VFL for about four weeks now and dominated Cameron Wood on the weekend.

I can't fathom you'd drop Jacobs when he's been killing Kreuzer in the hitouts to advantage. And since Kreuzer is the chosen one, can only see him being rested. Possible scenario, leading goalkicker aside:

in Hampson out Setanta

with Hampson and Kreuzer to finally be let off the leash in the F50.

I just think that he sets high standards for himself. He has been doing ok without setting the world on fire. I think the break next week will do him a lot of good since he does cover a lot of ground. Also, he offers a structural benefit since he can rotate forward giving Waite and Satanta some bench time. Although he has been largely ineffectual in attack this year he does present well and demands the ball.

I think we lost the game last week with our team selection- we had 3-4 really good players available last week and didn't pick them, we should have made the changes then. I expect us to put in a much more competitive showing this week.

Let's face it. Hammer & Kreuze doing the forward work couldn't be any worse than 3 out of Setanta's past 4 matches.
